In Gold and Silver Versions, The Pokemon world was introduced to somthing called Pokemon Breeding. Then in Ruby and Sapphire it became more advanced and the EGG got some properties from it's mother and father
    • From the mother- The breed of pokemon.
    • From the Father- Level-up and TM and HM moves

Now Share with me your breeding experiences! What was the best one? What was the worst one? Do you breed only one type of pokemon?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

My experience- When I reached the point When i could breed (This is when i had Gold version and Ruby and Sapphire weren't out yet) I bred Mereps I had a Merep farm!! I started a bussniess, My friends would trade me good Poke'mon for Mereps.
But now since I have my beloved Ruby I breed anything. I'm aiming on getting a Azurill.

Well, i started a buisness as well, trading my random eggs to friends for good pokes on my crystal. Sometimes the eggs would be rare pokemon, others common pokemon with good moves, and sometimes they'd even be magikarps! LOL, its pretty fun

Heh, In th earlier versions you couldn't breed the good rare pokemon. :'( But now you can breed your starter pokemon which is good so you can have all the starter pokemon. If your friend Feels like working a bit. Well you have to too.

I am selling eggs on my Gameboy to friends for either strong pok?mon or weak pok?mon with an item attached. ^^ I have..lets see...
    Zangoose eggs
    Seviper eggs
    Feebas eggs
    Absol eggs
    Girafarig eggs
    Torchic eggs
    Treecko eggs
    And lots more I can't remember...anyway, it's fun.

When FR/LG comes out, I'm gonna seach the grass for hours for a ditto with 31 IV in everything lol!!! Then I can breed really good pokemon!!! I bred my starter and now I have a million Blazikens lol!!!

I must admit, I've not done a lot of breeding yet. Bred a few Magby back on Gold/Silver, if only to increase my Pokedex. Started out with some nice moves, Fire Punch and Flamethrower among others.

To start of my Sapphire game, I actually made five Pokemon Eggs, got Mudkip as my starter in Sapphire, captured five Pokemon there, and traded them all for eggs. Then, I walked around in Petalburg Woods for a while and waited for all five eggs to hatch... The results were my Pokemon team: Mudkip, Pichu, Meditite, Roselia, Bagon, and Shuppet!

I did similar things in Gold once as well, but it was so long ago that I don't remember...

I noticed breeding is harder in Ruby/Sapphire... Sometimes, when you breed two Pokemon, even if they are in the same Egg group, the message from the daycare man says "They prefer to play with other Pokemon than each other" means that the two will never make an egg. That's so frustrating! I tried couples like Gardevoir and Shuppet, Slugma and Grimer, Pikachu and Electrike, Skitty and Jigglypuff... None worked!!! I got that same message! Now the only way I breed in Sapphire is with Pokemon of the same species, and that worked...
