    hey guys!
I just caught a shiny Zigzagoon. But since I'm not much of a fan of them I decided to breed my electrike with it, hoping to get a shiny electrike. The Zigzagoon is male and electrike is female. I know they are from the both egg group, however when I talk to the old man he says they don't like each other. Does this mean they won't breed together?
    Thanks :)

They will. It will just take some time. If they're in the same egg group, they definitely will.

Not a problem. Glad I could help. =)

Unless the old man said The two prefer to play with other Pokemon or something along the lines of that, they will breed. Judging by what the old man said to you, it will just take a longer time for them to breed. But they'll eventually hatch an egg.

Oh, and by the way, using a shiny as a parent Pokemon WILL NOT increase the chances of the offspring being a shiny.

Actually it will increase it... it has a 30% chance of being a shiny from an egg with a Shiny Parent... and you can not SoftReset to get a shiny when it hatches, because it already have all IV's m.m. in the egg.
I am almost-expert on Breeding so i know
And if you have a Ditto(from FR/LG/E) you can breed to the Male's Specie

Sorry, but that only happens in the Metal generation. In the Advance generation (the one discussed in this board), the shinyness of the parents don't affect their eggs at all, as Raikazu said.
