ya but dont forget when tracy cared with misty for ash in the "Pikachu Revolts" episode (with butch/cassidy and drowsey) and how he was caring enough to help ash get through it... he also was the 1 who asked where T R was when they fled saying they also deserved the town medal of honor. this shows, he cares for all and doesnt hate team rocket like brock has more of a feeling towards. Brock's pokemon may have helped more but thats b/c while traveling w/ Tracey, he gave ash moral support, showing he didnt need pokemon to help ash... ash was also always talking more to misty in emotional situations, but with tracey around and w/ a calming voice and sweet understanding can help ash move throguh situations and could very well be a therapist. maybe looking at the future lives of both and seeing who contirbutes more for the ppl/pokemon/world would help you consider. Tracey can help people though emotional journeys, can sketch and educate, and by assisting the proffesor must have gotten some valuable info... brock may have helped the world with breeding, but seeing any possible girl would distract him and almost guarantee he forgot about important things... he isnt very reliable... i mean he abandoned ash randomly jsut to live w/ prof. ivey, what does that say about their friendship?

Neither... Brock...is a Gym Leader... he should Gym Lead.

This is the thing with the Anime...it's too watered down. If only they made an Anime of the Manga ^_^;;

which proves my point more... the fact he left his dad to care for all his siblings jsut to help-out ash means he doesnt care as much about his family as his dream of pokemon breeding... he should go and stay to help-out his family... ya it is too watered down b/c nothing is really rememebered and there are too many pointless episodes (episodes that wouldnt have mattered if aired or nor)

Orange Islands was a great plot, but...in it's sense rather pointless. They also could have dropped Red like they did in the Manga and did a thing with Gold and Silver. May (Sapphire) wasn't really the Gym Leader's (Norman) kid...She was Professor Birch's Kid. Ruby (Brendan) was Norman's son. The Manga is just so much more Organized than the Anime...

it was pointless to the story but made up for having to so soon repeat the plotline of pokemon directly(imagine no O.I.and johto right after, which was the exact same thing)... plus it was great to have tracey (or else this wouldnt have been made) and gave ppl a new look at a new way to see the show...

Tracy should have been a Gym Leader, since Ash only travels around with loser Gym Leaders (with the exception of Misty...) Orange Islands wouldnt have hurted the story if it had more Gyms, better Cities, and A new Character replacing Ash/Red/Satoshi

tracey isnt a lsoer, so why would you have wanted to be counted as a loser gym ldr? he was more interesting than msity, all she did was obsess about water pokemon, and talk and over react about everything ash did and complain... tracety was peace and had insightful opions, and had to beak-up most of mistys arguments/fights, so really she held him back as a character...

I obsess over water Pok?mon...they're actually meaningful..unlike other types *coughcoughrock..electriccoughcough*

When a character does funny/hero things ppl like him, but when the character is just one of the protagonist's friends, he just isn't interesting. Also, Brock (and Misty) were the main characters in a lot of episodes, but Tracey was just in one or two of more than 47 episodes where he was.

Brock. =D Full on. Brock supports Ash by giving him advise as well. x-x; Tracey just never told Ash how to get through a few on those gyms in the Orange Island, nor did he tell Ash how he would go on in the episodes. x_x; Besides, Brock shows more charisma, comedic, Pokemon action. And overall, he's a great guy! X_X; I mean, how many people do you know like Ground? Or take over their fathers jobs as a father? O_o; Huh? Huh! HUH?!

*jumps in*

I see more purpose in Brock than I do in Tracey. Brock seems to be a big brother to the group, and I really don't see it in Tracey. So I think Brock is better.
Tracey isn't that bad though. :/

how could you say that father thing, when he immediately left his father once his father suggested to do the chores for him, i know he helped out in the begginning, but the fact he left helping his family behind immediately when he got the chance makes him seem fake in the end... i like tracey b/c he's real and by not helping ash in his battles, made ash an independent, and showed he doesnt have to have a big part to have a big heart, and all his pokes were great and helped ash... brock gave him advice b/c he wasnt confident in him, and thoguht he needed it/him to be there... when tracey helped it was when he really needed it, not by guessing/thinking he always needed it... a true firiend should know when to step-back, too bad brock didnt do that...

Brock IS confident in Ash. He gave advise like some water types are not very effective against fire but let Ash do the real battling, letting him be free in his choice. AND Brock didn't go away "immediately". He left rather awkwardly and his father wanted to finally help his family insteed of selling rocks. O_o;'

ya, but rememebr when he jsut immediately gave his father that list of chores to do? as if he planned it, almsot pretending to hesistate about the whole thing... anyways tracey doesnt have family problems to hold him back, and he, being calm, shows he doesnt have any problems that any1 can tell what-so-ever... he seemed like the only normal character to last on pokemon, and with brock, you cant help but notice his flaws, whether never getting a girl, also loving another girl immediatley, or jsut always being the cook, as if its his only real part in the show, you can kind of tell he could be taken off, but wouldnt really be missed... i would miss his dim-witted lotad more than brock himself... he's definetly a nice guy, but so is tracey and i dont have the same problems with him...

Brock

Brocky all the way... Brock is a really good friend. He's the type of friend that will do anything for you, plus he's a great cook. We didn't have Tracy for too long so he couldnt really grow on many of us.

Buttracey was always very resourceful, and now that he is helping oak, it shows he is sitll important enough to stay in the show... tracey had potential, just cuz they tok him away doesnt mean they took that away...
