I was thinking today about a diffrent way to go with Bronzong. Here's my Idea.

    Bronzong@Leftovers
Nature: Something that raises Sp Def.
    252 Sp Def, 129 Def, 129 HP
    Ability: Levitate
    Extrasensory
    Iron Defense
    Hypnosis
    Charge Beam

I think we all can agree on when we or someone else sees a 'Zong we assume that it's been EV Defense Trained and packs Calm Mind for the Sp Def boost and if we're at the disadvantage we'd switch to something that had a Special Fire Attack and KO it rather easily.

But what if it wasn't? What if the Zong already had a very high Special Defense and put to sleep the Fire Type that came out, while your asleep it raises it's Defense with Iron Defense for a 2+ In he stat then Charge Beams you for Sp. Atk Boost until you wake up. All of a sudden your pretty much stuck on with what to go with, you coud try and go for the Flamethrower or something but probably get whacked with a Powered up Extrasensory that has a chance at flinching. Now EQ won't do crap because of the Levitate and all your Physical Attacks would be rather useless if that thing for off 2 or more Iron Defenses. You could switch out to a ground type to avoid the Sp Atk Boost from Charge Beam, but what would you do? Any Ground attack would be useless and and physical rock attacks would be resisted by steel and it would easily get some more Iron Defenses off.

Now a Nasty Plot pokemon would be a good counter but only if the 'Zong hasn't gotten a nice Sp Atk bonus from the Charge Beam otherwise you're going to get whacked by a Charge Beam or Extrasensory, and how many people do you know that regularly carry a Nasty Plotting Pokemon in their parties?

This was just something I though up off today, tell me what you think.

You have nothing with out Trick room. trust me.......

That pokemon with Trick room has screwed me over soooooooooo many times that it isn't funny.

A cosmic lighter with Gyro Ball is scary to think about : /

Trick Room is only good on Zong if you have a team that packs alot of slow Pokemon, I had a Trick Room 'Zong and it wasn't that great.

Also, there is a common misconception about Gyro Ball. The damage is great if your Foe has a greater speed, not if your speed is lower. I've met alot of people who had to learn that the hard way. Gyro Ball isn't a great choice on Zong either.

This belongs in the Strategies & Movesets forum.

Nobody would leave their Pokemon in on Zong while it sets up. They'd switch to their PHazer and Roar you out. With no SpAtk EVs, the PHazer has nothing to fear from any of Zong's attacks.

Also, Bronzong doesn't carry CM that often. And your EVs should be divisible by four.

Actually Gyro Ball is a mix between how low your speed is and how high your opponents is.

    Base Power=25x(Target Speed/User Speed)

S basically if you have a speed of 25, and your opponent has a speed of 100, its 100 divided by 25=4, 4x25=100 it has a base power of 100. If that made ANY sense congratulate me.

That made perfect sense. :) I applaud you on making such perfect since, well done. -Applauds.-

Thank you *bows*. Also, I think Psychic is a better idea than Extrasensory, sure you lose the flinch, but the power is more needed to get Gengar and such off.

I certainly agree with you on Psychic over Extrasensory in most cases, but I would use that on a Defensive Bronzong. Since this one would be a Special Defense, Gengar wouldn't pose as much of a threat as it would against a Defensive Bronzong. I have a defensive 'Zong myself with Extrasensory though, since its my only Attacking move at the moment with him I like the idea of 30 PP rather then 10PP.

Really the idea with this 'Zong is throwing the opponent off, using something that isn't normally expected. Like a 'Zong with Heatproof over Levitate since most people will assume you have the Levitate, go to a Special Attacking Fire Type only to find out that its attacks aren't as effective as they would normally be then get whacked by a Psychic or something.

The best defensive Zong I had was a Levitator that had Rain Dance, it's only weakness is cut in half... It's just a pity he doesn't learn Thunder to take advantage of the rain in that aspect as well

Hmm..In never thought of using Rain Dance to cut the effectiveness of fire in half on a levtator. That sounds like a great idea. If I could get something else on my team to set up the stealth rock then I could use Rain Dance, or I could just ditch the SR all together, I'd still have a spinner to counter anything used on me.
