    So I did the contest on Tuesday, which was yesterday. I put my date on Thursday. I forwarded my time to Saturday. I still can't do the contest. Is it every 24 hours?

    The Bug-Catching Contest is a competition held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Johto's National Park.

    Anyways, the programmers are smarter than you. I don't think anyone's quite sure how they did it, but some time-based events don't get messed up when you change the date. I think it has something to do with the clock rolling over or something. In short, Game Freak hacked your https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=211328hacks.
     
    Yup, GameFreak found a way to ruin our fun. ): Another time based event that works through the clock is in the Safari Zone. Like if you have to wait 70 days or so to find a Riolu or something of the sort and you skip ahead, it still won't recognize it. So, like said they hacked into our hacks. xD
