Buick: Then and Now: Full-Size

And now to finish off my look at Buick's past and present offerings:

The old: Buick LeSabre

The new: Buick Lucerne

The Lucerne is the current Buick offering that I would be most likely to buy, as it's the one that's the closest to the brand's tradition of full-size American luxury. Styling is a bit hit and miss, though it ranks better than the LaCrosse. It has some intriguing options available. And the interior is suitably roomy and comfortable for an elite overlord like myself. 2010 is rumored to be the last year for this model, which really sucks for me...

But I see no reason why this car couldn't be called the LeSabre. It's a name that dates all the way back to 1959, and for over ten years had been the best-selling full-size car. Why Buick would give up name recognition like that is beyond me, but I suspect it has something to do with the GM exec stupidity that has brought the company to its knees...
