I've come up with an idea for a group of Pokemon games: Orange, Purple & Aquamarine versions - and I think it's pretty cool so I'm sharing it here to see if other people think it's cool as well.

I've realised that it's a big effort, and boring, to come up with a whole plot by myself, so I'm asking you all to join in by giving thoughts, criticisms, and making contributions, if you can be bothered. I don't know how much people would care about this, but I think it would be fun if a group of us made up a whole story.

I can't use pictures in my post because I've made less than 15 posts so it's not quite as colourful as I'd like it to be.

Also, I have no intention of actually making this game. I wouldn't know where to start and it's probably not legal. This is just for fun.

    Here it is:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pokemon Orange, Purple and Aquamarine versions are set in a parallel universe in the Kanto region at the same period in time as the original games. The most noticeable difference in this parallel universe is the colour changes to the Pokemon - the shiny forms are the regular forms, and vice versa. Golem, Machamp and Alakazam are the version mascots, in the same way that Venasaur, Blastoise and Charizard were those for Red, Blue and Green.

The protagonist and rival characters are based upon the grandchildren of Mr Fuji, the owner of the Pokemon orphanage in Lavendar Town. A basket of three rare Pokemon eggs mysteriously appear outside the orphanage, and upon hatching, Mr Fuji decides to gift them to his three grandchildren as their starter Pokemon. The three newly-hatched Pokemon are: Geodude, the defensive Rock type; Machop, the offensive Fighting type; and Abra, the intelligent Psychic type. At this stage in the game, neither you nor your siblings have any dreams of becoming Pokemon traners and travelling the world. Helping to run the orphanage and getting a part time job in the Lavendar Pokemart are the heights of your characters' ambitions.

The first mission of the game is to investigate the mysterious ghosts sightings in Lavendar town that we're all familiar with from the RBY games. Mr Fuji has been interested in these ghost mysteries all his life, and so is extremely excited by the release of a new product called a Silph Scope. However, in his ripe old age, he has a dislike of travelling and big cities, so he asks you and your siblings to take your new Pokemon to Saffron City to obtain a Silph Scope from one of his old friends in the business.

Yada, yada, yada. Potential Team Rocket storyline.

Once you've brought the Silph Scope back, Mr Fuji becomes very interested in the new ghost-type Pokemon that have been revealed to him, and he sends you all to Pallet Town to see Oak, the Pokemon Professor. You get there by taking a ferry from Vermillion City. While you're visiting Professor Oak, you meet Oak's grandson, Gary and his neighbour, Ash - who are both extremely competitive and have ambitions to become the greatest Pokemon trainers in Kanto. Professor Oak sees that your Pokemon are very strong, and after finding out about your victories in Saffron, he offers you all a Pokedex, some Pokeballs, and suggets that you become Pokemon trainers too.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't exactly know where to go from here, but here's an idea I have for what could happen next:

    • You have an adventurous sibling and a cautious sibling. The adventurous one follows Ash and Gary to Pewter City to get his first badge, while the cautious one goes home and raises his Pokemon in Lavender Town and the surrounding areas. You, the balanced one, decide you want to have the best of both worlds. You go home and tell Mr Fuji that you want to travel all over Kanto collecting gym badges. He accepts this and gives you guidance on the best route to take, but asks that you regularly visit home to help him out with the orphanage. This opens up the opportunity for lots of interesting sidequests, and perhaps each time you visit, he can have a special item for you, or he can tell you where to go next, or you can battle with your cautious sibling.
    • Something applicable to each starter depending on which you picked involving events at the Fighting Dojo for Machop, the Saffron Gym for Abra, and the Rock Tunnel for Geodude.
    • A completely different order in which you take on the gyms.
    • Encounters with Ash, Gary, your adventurous sibling and Team Rocket.
    • Some significant events around Cinnabar Island where Mr. Fuji used to live (he was the founder of the Pokemon Lab and good friends with Blaine).

i think it should have an all new team region and pokemon, but other than that the storyline is pretty cool, and by the way its legal to make your own pokemon games as long as your not gaining any money from it or distributing it commercially.

Perhaps you could discuss this in the gen VI speculation thread, make this a game of your own (which I suggest checking out Game Development and/or ROM Hacking if you do), or writing this as a fan fic. I can't quite tell what you're really trying to convey here sorry.

    Locked.
