Recently started playing Emerald again and decided to construct a team to be utilized for battling and contests. The final product will be:

    -Sceptile, Starter
    -Mightyena, Cool
    -Delcatty, Cute
    -Milotic, Beauty
    -Gardevoir, Smart
    -Camperupt, Tough

Now, my question for you all is, if you participate in Pokemon Contests, do you make a team specifically for contests and one for battling? Or, do you make a single team that's good at both?

I would think this belongs more in General Pokemon Gaming so I'll move it there for you.

    Awwwww, wonderful Grace. D: Advanced Generation...duhhhrrr. :P

Movin' on up to the east side.

I just make a battling team, stuff the contests. Delcatty is a horrible fighter, and I advise getting a Gardevoir. Hypnosis + Dream Eater is instant win.

Well I don't frequent contests myself, but when they were a new thing that sparked my curiousity I used my battling team as my contest team as well.
    I wasn't serious about them enough to make an entirely different team. XD;

I do exactly what you do - I make the starter as well as the 5 different contest types - here is my current Battle/Contest team for Emerald:

    Starter
    Sceptile @ Petaya Berry
    - Dragon Claw
    - Leaf Blade
    - Crunch
    - Toxic

    Cool Contesant
    Swellow @ Red Scarf
    - Aerial Ace
    - Double Team
    - Double Edge
    - Hyper Beam

    Cute Contestant
    Delcatty @ Pink Scarf
    - Bulk Up
    - Rock Smash
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide

    Beauty Contestant
    Roselia @ Blue Scarf
    - Magical Leaf
    - Sunny Day
    - Solarbeam
    - Petal Dance

    Smart Contestant
    Grumpig @ Green Scarf
    - Calm Mind
    - Psychic
    - Shadow Ball
    - Confuse Ray

    Tough Contestant
    Armaldo @ Yellow Scarf
    - Rock Smash
    - Swords Dance
    - Earthquake
    - Hyper Beam

That's actually a pretty cool idea. I never thought about it really. I just checked around in my PC for Pokémon that I'd never use for battling. I just fed them the right Pokéblocks and taught them the moves that would be useful. Usually, the Pokémon would be in their first stage, such as Taillow or Electrike. Next time I play Ruby or Sapphire I think I'll try it your way.

I never really got into contests (even in Gen IV), so my teams were mostly aimed for battling... but on occasion I'd have one Pokemon in a team that turned out to be a decent contest Pokemon (somehow; pure luck? I have no skills in contests) and thus they'd go through a couple of them when I felt like it.

So in short... no, I didn't have a whole team for contests, just battles.

    I Play them sometimes
i usealy go for 1 contest at a time so i usealy have 3 pokemon for fighting, 2 hm slaves and a contest pokemon
Tho i usealy dont do anymore contests afta i pass 1 and get the panting eg cool usealy

    Insert random filler here.
