3rd Gen Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle?

I went with the majority and chose Charmander, it's just my favourite.

I've seen a million poles like this and i always picked charmander...cuz every 1 SHOULD know that fire pokemon kick a$$! They are #1 and :10: is my fav pokemon ever!

I can hold you to your opinion that Charmander/Fire types are cool and all, but 85% of the time in competitive battles and on NetBattles, fire types are usually screwed before they can get in more than two attacks.

yes i would agree with that,the part i would agree on is SOMETIMES they get screwed b4 they can use 2 attacks and the part i would disagree is that fire types screw up 85% percent of the time, not all fire types are like that, especially when u know how 2 use stratagies and the right movesets...then ppl will c how powerful pokemon can be not just fire types, i think all pokemon types have equal power, u just have 2 know how 2 raise dem......so ya my opinion..o and i only said fire pokemon r kool is bcuz they look like it not cuz they're the most powerful.

Out of the three I go with Charmander as I like it more and tend to choose Fire types for my starters at least for the first go round but realistically in the games that they are starters for Bulbasaur is the best bet for having a nice and easy time when you start out in the games.

I actually like all three. I've especially grown fond of Bulbasaur these days, and think it was the very first starter I ever got back in the Red/Blue days. But for the longest time Charmander's been my fav. But still, Squirtle rocks as well ^_^

I got pokemon lg yesterday (borrowed from a friend at about 10pm)
I now have a charizard, a dugtrio and a graveler.
Charizard - L. 40
Dugtrio - L. 40
Graveler - L. 51

I only have 3 badges too ^_^
Brock, Lt Surge 'n' Misty..
So, I think charmander is the best as it learns steel claw which easily defeats brock when charmander reaches a level like 18, just like mine. The ember easily destroys the trainers in veridian forest and then when it comes to Misty, you gain plenty of levels on nugget bridge, and then if you choose to get the mega punch/kick you should have no problems ;]

I always pick baulbasaur because its easy to get your pokemon party together. For me, baulbasaur and its evalutions are all the friendliest to me.

I chose squirtle, no real reason. I think bulbasaur might have been a better choice though since it has an advantage over the first 2 gyms....but...doesn't matter....never really keep my original pokemon in my party.

you choose to get the mega punch/kick you should have no problems ;]

Mega Punch and Mega Kick are useless moves. I'd advise you not to use them, especially not on Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard.

in my first pokemon game ever (red version) i choose squirtle. i didnt even know what pokemon were but charmander is my my fave. Charizard reminds me of my dad (mega cool and powerful).

Bulbasaur, (first pokemon i got on Pokemon Red 1998 << 2nd pkmn game i played) because he has the advantage for both gym leaders.

When it comes to favorites I pick Bulbasuar because it will evolve into a Venusaur. But when it comes to Weakness I pick Squirtle.

Venusaur's weakness-Psychic, Flying, Fire
Not weak to Bug and Poison anymore also with ground.

Charizard's weakness-Water, Electric, Rock(x2) that looks bad on charizards part.
Not weak to Ground and Ice

Blastoise's weakness- Electric and Grass. Mostly Blastoise's have high Defenses and special ones as well.

I always choose Charmander because I like the challenge. Plus I'm a dragon trainer, and Charizard kind of looks like a dragon. ( a silly reason perhaps ^^; )

Not everyone picks Charmander though. My cousin always starts with Squirtle. He likes Wartortle best.
