Cacturne, Carnivine?

Well I was just thinking that Cacturne could've been the pre evo from Carnivine they look alike in a way...do u think they should've been in the same evolution group with Cacnea?

I think it should be a multi evo or something, like you level it in a certain place or give it a certain stone so it evolves into Carnivine, and Same for Cacturne, but different place/stone obviously.

What does a cactus have to do with a venus flytrap+vines, anyways? They're all Grass types, but still...

Just like IRL, there's more than one species of plant life.

Honestly, they are really nothing alike. A cactus lives in a different environment to a Venus Fly trap, so they don't have much in common at all. Besides, it just doesn't look like an envolution of a cactus anyway.

I always thought Venonat -> Butterfree and Metapod -> Venomoth made more sense, especially with the first sprites XD

But yea, I could've seen Carnivine as a split evo from Cacnea... Not so much Cacturne

I have to agree, they have nothing much in common at all except for them both being grass types...I think it is better off with the way they are now...

I don't think they look very similar, but I see what you mean.
I don't think they should be in an evolution together either, but I do think that Carnivine should get an evolution or pre evolution very soon!

They're both green, thats about as similar as they get:

Eyes:
-Cacturne; dark, yellow and sinister
-Carnivine; white and cartoony

Mouth:
-Cacturne; None, a series of holes instead
-Carnivine; Exposed "Teeth", comical grin

Limbs:
-Cacturne; Stubby yet defined arms, short legs
-Carnivine; Arms replaced with leaves, no legs

I fail to see any traits that both share other than color :|

I don't see why everyone thinks they should evolve into each other.
El Gofre said what I meant, apart from the colour green, there is nothing in common. Sure they are plants. Does that mean that all grass Pokemon should evolve into each other?
So no, I don't think they should evolve into or from each other...

Not really.
As others said, the only thing they have in common is their color, and being grass types.

If you want to get more realistic about it, the fact that fly traps live in wet areas like bogs and swamps, as opposed to deserts, kind of rules out the two of them being closely related as well.

Wow, never noticed that before. I see the resemblance with Cacnea and Carnivine and I thought it once but Carnivine and Victreebel are closer related.
