Calling in sick

I make it a point not to miss school/work unless I'm deathly ill. Sometimes, I've gone against my parents' wishes and gone into school while sick. I think it was a combination of me actually liking school and not liking the stay at home alternative...

Then again, I've never gotten really sick lately... If I do get something it's usually a minor cold that goes away in 24-48 hours...

I hate sick leaves. Really. I miss out a lot on the lessons and such. And I have to freaking provide myself a copy of the lesson. Selfish university professors are selfish.

It used to be once a year when I was younger, with time it became maybe 5 times a year. An exception is the first half of 2011, where I was not only having one nasty cold after another but also was almost completely out of motivation. While I somehow didn't cross the critical line anywhere, I still missed probably ~20-25 days that semester.

I seem to get ill a lot, but it only lasts for a day or two each time - it's never anything big that keeps me away from anything for weeks. I used to be really ill as a child, so I suppose it's an improvement (not as much as I'd have hoped, though). So far this year, even though it's only early January, I've been away from college three times due to illness, so I'm hoping that this happens less often in the Spring and Summer.
