Well the shows and the games are separate stories, so I don't expect a cameo from her.
 
Since Rowan was referenced as visiting Kanto for a number of years in D/P/Pt, the theory of him making a cameo is fully possible.
Having Whitney reference Norman is also a good idea, kudos to the person who thought of it.
Since Sinnoh seems to take place a little after Johto, maybe after defeating Jasmine, instead of saying she was on a trip, she'll say the player has inspired her to go on a trip to get stronger.

maybe while she was out in sinnoh the pokemon in the lighthouse got sick or something >A<

Like I've said before, Johto is more than likely a few weeks ahead of Sinnoh's event. The reason why is because in DPPt, there was said that Prof. Elm had discovered an egg from a Pokémon [or something along those lines] in Hearthome City. So, Jasmine couldn't tell about herself being in Sinnoh, but she can say that she is planning on taking a visit out of the Johto Region. This will show the relation to the sequence in what happened in DPPt and what is happening now in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

However, I do like your idea in showing a cousin relation between Kris and the new female. Seeing as their hair is similar it is a possibility. Except, it seems as though Pokémon dislikes going into deep depth about family relations. For instance with Silver and Giovanni, they only say he has a son with 'red hair' and never went past that. Anyway, they could also cameo/refer that the new girl is a fan female. Where she speaks of this other female with blue hair who also came from Johto. I don't know, but it'll be nice for Kris to be cameo'd somewhere into the game, whether it be visual or wordly references.

Its possible that they would have her have a cameo, but probably not as a cousin of the new girl. She might appear in Kanto, like in the copycat's house (or whatever his name was, the one that looked just like you).
 
I hope to see some references to Teamm Aqua/Magma/Galactic coming from Team Rocket.

That would be kind of interesting to see. I'd more see them discussin about Team Aqua and Team Magma more than Team Galactic as the events of Johto I believe are a few weeks or so before the events in Sinnoh. Plus, Team Aqua and Magma would have had to be caused three years ago from this point, as Hoenn runs with the same timeline as Kanto did. Though, I don't see much of Team Rockets wording changeing too much as Team Rocket in FRLG was never altered much before. Actually, in Sinnoh it was said that one Team Galactic member leaft to go back to his old country when we had to get the certain key to go in the Galactic Warehouse later in the game. Maybe this country could have been Johto and we may see him before he ever joined Team Galactic, now that makes sense and would be interesting to see.
 
I'd like to see Volkner visiting the Lighthouse so his Electivire can light it up, when Ampharos falls ill. Heck, maybe even a double battle against Volkner and Jasmine? That would be one tough battle xP

Also, I'd like to see a Crystal cameo, although I doubt it. Perhaps as an assistant in Elm's lab? She could be wearing a lab coat or something so she doesn't stick out :)
 
I would also like to see some referance to Team Aqua and Magma, maybe not Galactic. I can't remember very well but i don't think Ho-Oh or Lugia were being chased after by Team Rocket in the original. Maybe Aqua could try and get Lugia and Magma could try and get Ho-Oh. But failing in doing so of course.
 
Seeing as we've gotten new scans. It has been seen that Cynthia might make an appearance along with Arceus. This is speculation on what was seen in the newly released scans of course. If this is true, then there might definitely be a new event and possibly a short or more mid side event involving Cynthia. I think this is pretty exciting, and not to mention the appearance of Groudon, Kyorgre, and Rayquaza not only to make a cameo in the game, but also available to be caught. I think the game will have a lot more than expected, and there just may be a chance that some cameos that were lsited before, may indeed have a slight higher possibility. Though, I'm just speculating on what I see that is released.

I'd still like Prof. Rowan to show up in the game though, as it'll be nice of him to introduce us with some of the newer features that were brought to us in DPPt. For example, the PokéRadar, and other things like that I think were nice and it'll be very beneficial to have again in the remake I would think.
 
I'm hoping to see some stuff about Giovanni in this one, even if there weren't any references to it in D/P/Pt. I've always wondered if they were going to confirm Silver as his son, and if not, let us know who, but they never have. :/
 
I think it would be cool if Prof. Rowan would come to give the PokéRadar or something like that. I always disliked Prof. Birch because he didn´t feel or sound like a real professor at all like Prof. Oak and Rowan does... o___O If there will be some people hanging around in Johto and Kanto from other regions I guess Steven or Wallace might just be one of them as well as Cynthia somehow connects with the Arceus. It would be awesome if Arceus event wouldn´t need any stupid specific item to unlock it because in Finland Heart Gold and Soul Silver won´t be released until year 2012 or something like that... I´m still waiting for Platinum to appear into stores. XD Europe and especially Finland sucks badly with these things.

If these three are in- then maybe Archie/Maxie/Steven/Wallace, or someone else from Hoenn to explain why they are there??

Arceus rules- and I sorta like Cynthia- she has a Garchomp :-P

Johto is at the same time as Sinnoh and Hoenn is at the same time as Kanto. Johto is three years after Kanto, so... sorry.

And besides it was originally implied that Whitney got her Miltank from the ranch just west of Ecruteak City, since thats were her grandparents are
 
I really want to see Kris in these games. She is the only thing that will complete the games for me. She could be like how Dawn/Lucas was in DP insread of your rival. Or just be a side character you run into every now and then. There were three allies in DPPt after all adding Barry.
 
I think Cynthia will also make a cameo in the mainstory...
We will meet her at the Cianwood at the pharmacy, when she buys the Secret Potion xD

Barry & then Dawn/Lucas (depending on which one you play as).
i doubt Kris would make an appearance, cos "soul" has replaced her
i don't personally have a problem with it, i like the new girl :).
 
So happy Cynthia makes an appearance! Not that surprised by it though.
