I am planning on doing a Final Fantasy VI hack and I wanted to know
What is a good sprite and hex editor?
plus what can you use to edit the world map and script for eveything?

Are you hacking FF6 Advance? If so none of that exists as far as my research has gone. If you are hacking FF6 I'd say go find the FF6 hacking community, but if you aren't then hunt around here for the tools.
