I didn't see anything in the forum rules where I couldn't ask this sort of thing. My hack is purely for my own play. I don't plan on selling it or releasing it in any capacity.

I'm essentially trying to expand the move list and improve battle AI of my existing hack without changing graphics or interface.
I've put a lot of work into my hack and I'd hate to start from scratch or try and recreate it in Pokeemerald.

I read that ChaCha Dinosaur's rom base can be applied to existing hacks. I've tried several times, but can't get it to work.
Too dated to work? Maybe not for one of you experts on here.

Would anyone be interested in helping me or showing me a different way? I've used Fiverr to pay for services before, but I'm open to other avenues.

There's no point paying for applying a rom base.

So, you get the rom hack, use a patcher, and it doesn't work? It probably doesn't support it then.

I can't be sure I'm doing it right, though. I'm not experienced in programing.
Can you give me links to resources or videos for this type of thing? The instructions tell me to use an old version of Devkit and Devkit Arm 45, as well as change settings in a python file. Is that considered patching? Does it create a rom and then I patch to my hacked rom? I think if I was able to watch it get done, I'd be able to understand.

Thanks for the link, I gave it a shot vanilla with a successful patch and with my hacked rom with an unsuccessful patch, so I think my original idea of using Chacha Dinosaur's engine upgrade with devkit and python is the way to pull this off.

Are you willing and able? Or perhaps you know someone I can pay to do this?

Update: I got the Battle Engine to take, but there is a bug in it. Moves seem to be updated, but whenever I enter a battle, the screen goes black.
Perhaps it can be fixed in the python code? As long as I have the new attacks, I'm happy.

Alright, It was a free space issue. Looking good, just one more question. Trying to apply the PGE ini update, can you tell me what this means?

    - Place a copy of a valid roms.ini in the master folder and in cmd prompt type 'python scripts\PGEinidump.py'.
A corresponding test.ini will be created for test.gba.

Like, is valid roms.ini the ini file from my hack? Do I rename it?

I've had various degrees of success here. There's on conflict I'm trying to solve that is potentially an easy one. I think the condensed battle intro is causing a glitch. I want to change scripts to just remove that feature.

Still willing to pay to have someone take a look and remove the script.
