Can someone explain to me about EV and IV ?

I've been played Pokemon since I was kid and I realised that ppl always talk about EV, EV training and I heard about IV too.. I was asking them to explain but still dont get it.. Is it for boost stats or what.. Someone pls explain.. I dont understand at all. :(

Ok umm yeah I got a few questions..

1. Is it all area and pokemon I can gain EVs ?
2. Is there EVs point I got for my Pokemon shown in the game ?
3. How to train pokemon with the stats that I want ? (This one is hard to understand lol)

1. I'm not sure I understand this question. You can allocate EVs for all Pokemon, yes.

Okay. I think I got it now.. About the first question what I mean is if I train my Pokemon at any area fight with wild pokemon, can I get EVs point too ?

Yes. That's what I personally consider to be the long way though, and the amount of EV points that you get depends on the wild Pokemon that you face. Some Pokemon also give more EVs than others; there are some that give 1 EV point for a particular stat upon defeat (usually this is non-evolved Pokemon that are rather weak), there are some that give 2 EVs (usually evolved Pokemon or stronger base-level Pokemon) and there's the very rare Pokemon that you see in the wild that may give off 3 EVs in a particular stat (typically a very strong Pokemon, final evolved forms usually, or otherwise a Pokemon that's ridiculously powerful in a given stat).
