Issue: Can't post or verify with Double Counter on discord without first verifying my account with my phone number

I've only recently joined the PokeCommunity discord, and already am running into trouble in it 😅
As per a post this evening, mentioning the discord would be implementing a new verification process, involving a so called 'Double Counter' bot (see the post here), I have found that I am suddenly unable to post anywhere on the discord, and worst of all, I can't even verify my account using the new method, without first verifying my account via phone number.
Now, according to the post linked above, this new method came precisely to replace, among other things, phone verification (as per my understanding), and yet I can't do anything in the server now without first doing said verification - which I absolutely do not want to do, as I don't want to give discord my phone number for privacy reasons.
I tried DMing any of the discord mods online directly, but as expected they don't accept DMs from random users; I also can't use the modmail/ticket function with Rotom bot, as that requires being able to type somewhere in the server.
I am at a loss on how to proceed from here, so I thought my only chance was to post for help here in the forums - is there any way someone here who's also a mod on the discord, or who can relay my issue to one, can help me please?
I want to be able to use the discord, and am happy to go through the verification method they just implemented with the bot, but I just don't want to use my phone number first!

We removed the phone number requirement within the last half hour so you should be able to click the button now. Keeping it on until more people were verified seemed like the safer option but we didn't realize until reports like yours came through that not having the phone number prevented clicking the button. :) Thanks for the heads up and sorry for the inconvenience!

I just tried and indeed I was able to click the verify button, and have been successfully verified!
