    My not-so long and endearing theory:

    They may just skip that number. People could get offended, like the whole Jynx incedent. She resembled a black woman so they had to make her all purpley.

    I dunno, either that or it'll be something small and adorable, like Cleffa XD

    Paradise Lost, anyone?

    What you said is the basic story of how Lucifer and Hell came to being, as made famous in John Milton's Paradise Lost. Lucifer, who was once an angel, saw himself as better than God and all humans, and couldn't understand why God loved us more than him and his fellow angels. So Lucifer went out to "test" our faithfulness in God, in a classic example where he completely cursed the life of one man (can't for the life of me remember his name), but Lucifer killed his family, made him lose his job and become poor, gave him bodily lesions, and a whole bunch of bad things, but he remained faithful. I forget if that part's in the book, but after a while Lucifer left (was banished from?) Heaven to create his own kingdom in the Underworld.

    Darkrai is the NIGHTMARE pokemon. He is not a deamon of any sort. It acutually looks as if he is protecting Ash in those trailers.

    I think that in America they may actually skip the number so they don't get attacked by Christian Organizations, even though they mean nothing by it. Also it's advertised toward children so if they made number 666 a super evil cool pokemon, they'd start to think that's a cool number because kids are so impressionable.

    Though I do think it would cool to have a devil pokemon, opposing Arceus. Movie 15 anyone? (My guestimate of how many movies will be between the new one and the time that number 666 would come)

    I don't think they'd skip it, it would be too weird to have Pokemon #665 then #667. Some fans may even speculate it to be a "hidden Pokemon." If they were really concerned about offending anyone, they'd probably just make it another regular Pokemon like the rest and not have it represent anything demonic.

    Although it would be cool if it were, and have an angelic Pokemon for number 777 x3

    Congratulations, that officially makes no sense. Gen 1 has 151, Gen 2 had 100, Gen 3 had 135, and Gen 4 has 107.

    I believe the man you refer to is Job (his story is found in the book of....JOB. what a suprise :P )
    and there are conflicting theories about when satan was banished from heaven, whether before or after the story of Job, but alas, this is no place for theological debate.
    also, on the subject of 666, you guys are a little late. the new 'big thing' is 616, because apparently some ancient scroll was found that was believed to be older (and theoretically more accurate) in which the number of the beast is said to be 616.
    but once again, no place fore theological debate.
    I definitely think it should be some little cute/cuddly looking pokemon :P

    It doesn't have to be a evil pkmn. 666 is just a number okay. But I hate it when people a.) think about the next generation when the previous generation isn't a whole year old yet and b.) when people put religion of the number "666" come on its just a stupid number and 6 is my favorite number. Nintendo is not going to skip a number of pkmn just because of religion related. They are going to see it as a number like I and other people do

    Your favorite number is 6? YOU'RE THE DEVIL!

    Well, talking seriously, 666 is nothing more than just a number which can stand for any Pokémon, from an angel-like Pokémon to a Houndoom-like Pokémon. Now the problem is that many fans want 666 to have a more special meaning, and that is making an evil Pokémon, which at the same time would make the game controversial, banned in many countries, and would ruin the entire franchise. Really, many people are complaning about Houndoom, the church in Hearthome and some other things (Read), even when Pokémon has NEVER even touched the religion subject. It would be cool, for me too, for not for nothing more than for joking. Really nobody (I think) thinks it has to be an evil Pokémon.

    I have to say I completely agree. It is just a number. But one thing I dont agree on is it can and will offend certain people. Not saying me, I just don't care. But the group of people who do believe in that will try to sue nintendo or something wild and crazy like that.

    eh, they would have no grounds for which to sue, but that doesn't mean that you won't get some people protesting etc.

    Black people were about to sue Nintendo because Jynx resembled a fat african american woman(excuse me if that sounds a little racist, I'm not trying to make it seem that way.)

    Why not sue because of this? It's basically the same thing if you think about it. It won't effect us, but it effects peoples feelings.

    I gotta say..I doubt nintendo gives a flying **** if they offend anyone at this point...and Why would they skip that number?thats the most stupid thing i have heard...a Number is a Number..Im christian and i could care less about anything Evil or the number 666...

    666? i thought the devil's number was 777 and all casino players were demons.

    a devilish pokemon would be fine but may abit offensive
