3rd Gen Capitalized text in Battle Frontier

I've been wondering this for awhile, but why is all the text from battlers in the Battle Frontier/Trainer Towers (Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen) capitalized with spaces before punctuation?

They use vocabulary words, from the word bank that you use in various places (such as the Dewford Trendy Phrase, Berry Master's place, Interviews, etc.). To be specific, trainers in the Battle Tower use 6-vocab-word phrases whenever they start the battle, win, or lose. There is even a man you can talk to in order to create your own phrases to be used in the Battle Tower; if you mix records with a friend, they could be able to fight a virtual copy of your team (or at least your trainer).

Well, that's certainly news to me. I've suddenly regained interest in the 3rd Gen.
