4th Gen Catching Dialga!

It was nice to me and stayed in the first quick ball I chucked. No damage done or anything. 8D
 
I used one ultra ball on it, which was very lucky.
But, I had to restart the game like 50 times. You know how you have to fight that one guy before you fight dialga? Well I apparantley had weak pokemon and he kept killing all my pokemon except for one or two and I didn't have any healing items with me. Then, Dialga kept killing me before I caught it. So just one of the times I restarted, I just threw and ultra right away and it caught it! woot! :)
 
Dialga was easy. I caught it on 2nd/3rd try with a Great Ball. I thought catching a legendary with a Great Ball was a great feat, but I guess not, since Dialga is easy to capture, and others have used mere Poke Balls... Oh well.
 
I ended up using DUSK BALL in previous resets.

Well.. Why wouldn't it?

I caught my first Dialga in a Timer Ball, and plan to do the same with my second when this one i'm looking at decides to Shine ':<
During a few "test captures", it usually caught within the first 10 turns. Soo it would have been no more effective than a Poké/Premier/Luxury/Heal Ball.

Personally I think GF should have given the player the Master Ball after you meet Dialga/Palkia, 'cause it's predictable that most people are going to use it on them due to the automatic notion that they will be insanely difficult to capture, yet in reality, it being by far unneccessary and could be better used on one of those Legendaries with the dismal catch rate of 3.

And to the original poster, I only see the question "what Ball did you use to catch Dialga in?", what about those who are playing Pearl and are up against Palkia? xP
 
I was VERY lucky. I got out... I used drill peck until it only had a bit of health, switched out to my electric type, I used thunder wave. then i chucked like one ultra ball, didn't work then I CHUCKED A POKEBALL AND IT ACTUALLY CAUGHT IT!!!!!!

I was SOOOOO happy!
 
I used my master ball. Now I am kicking myself for it. I really want that one in Turnback Cave! I can knock it down to the red zone with dialga's supereffective Draco Meteor, but I still can't seem to catch it... Usually I just put it to sleep and chuck ultra balls at it until it knocks out all my pokemon in between naps, or I run out of ultra balls. Whichever comes first.

Dialga has a much higher capture rate than most legendary pokemon, so you can probably catch it in any ball you have without much trouble. Both Palkia and the Shaymin that you find in the Flower Asylum have the same capture rate.

Dialga I caught in the Ultra Ball, nothing special there. Palkia I caught in the Net Ball. It is a Water type, after all.
 
My first time playing diamond I caught it in a master ball, kick myself after doing that. Then I restarted, caught it in a dusk ball, plus it shiny and then on my third restart I caught it in a timer ball.
 
I caught mine in a Dusk Ball. I had a very tough time with my Dialga actually. It turned out to have high IVs. BTW, I was on the GTS and Palkia seem to be comodoties (SP?). There are like only 3-6 online whenever I check and they never have Lustrous Orbs, while Dialgas are diamond dozen (no pun intended).

More people have a copy of Diamond than Pearl, so Palkia, which is available only in Pearl, is sought after.

I think you're right, though. There's no reason for people to be so stingy with Adamant/Lustrous Orb. It's not like they will do anything for any other pokemon.
 
I used a Masterball because i thought because it is like the pokemon of the game i guess, it would be uber hard to catch and i didnt know there were umm mespirit? i think thats it, and the other 2. So i used loads od Ultra Balls for the first 2 that dont flee and got a Mespirit from the GTS cause i cant be bothered catching it. :)

P.S i probably got those names wrong. i dont play Diamond Much, im more a 1st+2nd series fan. :)
 
One Dusk Ball thrown and *Plunk* it is caught.

While I wanted to hear the music longer.... <:(
 
I have Pokemon Pearl, but I caught Dialga in my friend's game...I used like 4 or 5 quickballs, but of course i weakened him first.........
