I think Abra or Mew might be a cat. However, Abra is kinda iffy and you couldn't use Mew in competitive play 'cause it's uber.

ABRA..Is not a Cat. It seems to me like a little kid who has mastered the art of Teleport, Telepathy, Telekinesis...and what not.

Absol however IS a CAT. It has very cat like features. Also in the "Jirachi the Wish Maker" movie When MAX walked under a lader(which is considered bad luck) Absol attacked. Black cat when said to cross a road bring bad lucks....so I think Absol is based on a cat. EVEN THOUGH I KNOW ABSOL DON'T BRING BAD LUCK, SO DON'T ACT SMART =/.

Raikou is Definetly a cat. I think it's better than Luxray.

All right, well Absol is definitely going on my team (darn swarms...all the cats are hard to find). I don't know that Weavil fits the theme. I really wish he did, because aside from Luxray this team is begging for a little offense. Maybe a little more convincing and I'll accept that one. Thanks for all the suggestions guys (also nice cubone).

Also, my argument for espeon comes from Bulbapedia, where the origin section says "It appears to be based on legend of the nekomata, also known as bake-neko. Nekomata are mysterious two-tailed goblin cats." I'm willing to accept that for now.

More suggestions would be welcome.

Raikou is a legendary /dog/. Dogs are not cats.
Electrike and Manetric are also dogs. Dogs are not cats.
Er, the Fire-types are porcupines and weasels.
Shaymin is a hedgehog. Er, the flying form might be a dog of some sort.

Actually Raikou is officially one of the legendary beasts, Legendary dog was a colloquial term adopted by fans. I actually think it's more akin to a lion, while bulbapedia says tiger. Either way is has far more feline attributes than it does canine.
 
That's weird that you're making a team of cats.
I made Team of dogs (too easy) about a month ago.
Now, I'm working on a team of Bunnies. ^_^
So far, I've thought of:
Wigglytuff
Loppunny
Minun
and Azumarill.
Are you sure Absol is a cat? I've always thought of it as kind of a dog. But now that you mention it, it does seem a bit like a cat. Maybe it's another animal fusion! ^_^

Arcanine is a cat isn't it? Tigerish... Lionish? Anyway, I'm positive he's feline. However, i'm not sure where you would get one inless you could transfer one from a GBA game.

Perhaps I didnt make it clear, but that was my point. I have already referred to cats being feline in this thread.

Maybe Jolteons are secretly vain and were one pretty and beautiful as eevee's then when the world of pokemon had an industrial revolution, it got electricuted and what not and try to get back to their pretty state and shave their legs.

that is an awesome idea first of all. I would say growlithe and arcanine are cats cuz they're like tigers.
