2nd Gen Celebi in english version a possibility?

    Mods and admins, you can delete this if you think it is spam, and I apologize for any inconvinience I may have caused. But I have heard many rumours of part of the code for Celebi still floating around the game. Apparently, if you catch the following unknowns:
    'C'
    'E'
    'L'
    'E'
    'B'
    'I'
    And put them in that order in you're squad then it will unlock part of the old coding, and then to finish it off you have to go to the shrine in Ilex forest then press 'A' (or B...I can't remember) And celebi should appear.


    I am not saying this is true but merely asking to see if this is real. Now, it might be a possibility, so please dont dismiss this as soon as you see it.
    I will greatly appreciate somebody tyring this. Thank you.
     
    the only way to get mew or celebi in any version is with the use of a gameshark or from one of those nintendo events

    and I think someone already posted this topic earlier or one just like it.
     
    that sounds kinda true but it might be fake. anywho i gots my celebi from a friend whos friend went to the promotion in sydney.
     
    i haven't heard of any other way except by using codes or nintendo event
     
    Actually, Celebi is hidden in the English version, and in a event, but because that telephone thing is not existing anymore, the event can only be unlocked with
    Action Replay. It turns out that event was proggrammed into the game, but they forgot to take it out when the required item vital for unlocking it ceased to exist.
     
    there is a cheat code for catching celebi in crystal..on computer...in english version..its...91C089DA
     
    I dont think this will work, If I get far enough in my game I will try it though
     
    instead of doing this whole celebi mystery thing just download the game and do the code on your emulater. it is quicker.
     
    You could get Celebii in the Japenese version.Hope it helps.
     
    yep, what Haru said i think is ture, because, in Japanese Version of PKMN Crystal you need the "Modem Adapter", that Item for the GBC only came out in japan for centain reason that are hard to explane, anyway w/ it i think this what u do:

    1. Attach the "Modem Adapter" to the GBC and in PKMN Crystal go to the Radio tower in Goldenrod city.

    2.There you need to read the message on the lockers on the right side of the room. It will say something about the Future.

    3. When you go to leave, a blue Nurse Joy will come up to u and tell to beat all 16 Gym Leaders

    4. Once you have beaten all the Gym Leaders, go back and talk to her again and she will give u the "GS Ball"

    5. give the ball to Kurt and leave it there for a day, the next day after you have give the ball to Kurt he will give it back to you.

    6. Take the ball to the Ilex Forest and go to the shine and there you should meet a Lv. 30 Celebii.

    Thats the jist of it if i remember right, sigh too bad it is only for the Japanese Version of PKMN Crystal.

    And as for the "Modem Adapter"... well i'll explane why it didn't come out of Japan and a little bit about it, heheh, i just hope on one gets mad at me for this writing all this much

    The GBC "Modem Adapter" was a unit that you attach to your cellphone from your GBC. With it you could perfrom Trades and battles in the game with other people w/o out the need of the of a Link Cable. (Heh, sort of sounds like the "Wireless Adapter" unit, which i think was made sort of based off of the "Modem Adapter") The unit, if i remember right, would keep track of your friend phone #'s so u could reach them for a battle or a trade, however the unit only worked for PKMN Crystal. the Reason the "Modem Adapter" didn't come out of Japan is because of the Number of telephone #'s out there in the world would cause the unit to much stess, and trying to reinput the #'s would be a big problem too not to mention the ever increasing number of Cellphone use would also cause a problem be cause the unit was only writen for the ones that where alread registered phone #'s was another problem as well, so it never left Japan, heh i doubt that Nintendo will ever try something like this again, that i do...

    er... oops i did it again, i had to take this topic and run off the end of earth with it, but then again it is a kind of cool to know right, oww sorry i went way off topic on this one, heh, this sort of thing happens to me. ;o_\\

    I'm not sure, cause i looked thru all the Item hack codes an i never seen a GS Ball Item in them, (but then again i could of missed it) Nintendo could of taken it out, cause they knew about Gamesharks Hacking abilities, but that rise the quest if they knew or not and it the didn't why would they just take the GS Ball out, y not just leave it in the game data, but they didn't something must of spooked them into taking it out of the game, but still even if it was Gameshark that spooked them, why would they complately remove an Item form the games data why, Why not just leave it as missing Item data, hmm, of couse you could think of it this way, was it ever really in the game to being with?

    WRONG! i have a Mew in my Crystal, i got it from Blue from a glitch, you must know that code... I can tell you if not...
     
    I know how to catch celebi (with some help of game shark)

    OK First you put this:9173F1D0 code in to buy the GS ball from any mart COST =$0

    then put this:014089DA code in and go to kurts house (the dude who makes pokeballs) talk to him. the takes the GS ball .

    After a day type this code :01C089DA and get it back kurt tells you to go and cheak the forest , go there and you put the gs ball on the shrine .........

    THEN celebi comes !!!!!!! its level 30

    In the jappenes one you would have to go to get 16 badges then go to the (in the jappenes one it was a big Pokemon center --for the mobile adaptor-- ) pokemon center in goldenrod and speak to a lady who gives you the GS ball after 16 badges but netendo striped the mobile adpator and the big pokemon center and left it as a normal pokemon center ....BUT it would take too much effort to take the whole celebi quest out of the game so you could still do it but with gameshark...

    wanna know somethibg weird? somehow in my gold version i have celebi's pokedex data, but i never even seen it in my game, let alone caught it! maybe i used that code a long time ago and released the celebi.....

    WAIT A SECOND! no way i'd release a celebi! so the mystery remains....

    I got Mew from a glitch in red and sent him to silver, it should be the same in both games...

    You know that house on Route 8? Stand right in front of it. Walk down until you see a trainer. QUICKLY press Start before he sees you (doesn't work if you battled him) and fly somewhere. After him, there's a trainer near Bill's house, I forget which one. You battle him and win, then fly to Lavender. From there, try to head west. The menu will pop up (kinda like a chance to save :P), close it, and a Lv.7 Mew will attack you.

    Sorry about that. But anyway, there is no similar glitch in Crystal. NoA left it in there to avoid one of those "ha i traid dis code and it dont work u sux nintndo" scenarios. Basically people turn on all sorts of codes of things from the Japanese version to see if they work in the English version. One such example is Missingno.; they had the opportunity to remove that, but they didn't.

    What do they do at the Sydney event? Give you the GS Ball, or Celebi? I don't want to get it so easily, I want the GS Ball. :\
