Changes in the anime come to the 5th gen

    Assuming there will be a 5th gen what effects do you think it will have on the show.

    I think theres a possibility of ash not doing the gyms but trying contests, it seems alot of the 4th gen so far has shown ash has so potential in that area,this would mean ash doesnt have to have another female contest companion and opens doors to new areas, what do you guys thinks?

    Do you think that there'll be a new form of competitions instead of the contests?

    What other changes do you think the 5th gen will bring?

    Note: This is a thread made on Serebii.net, I thought it would be interesting to bring it to PC.....By the way, these are not my thoughts....I will say my own thoughts later on.
     
    I'll add on here for some reason.

    Ash will continue doing Gyms because it's the main plot of the game.
    Dawn might get replaced because one female switch doesn't mean there's a trend.
    I have the feeling that Brock will stay AGAIN.

    The fifth gen has already gotten trailers or something in Japan and apparently Misty joins up with Ash again and they travel with someone. Ash also, supposedly, starts considering his future. Mabye he'll consider becoming a Fronteir Brain or a Gym Leader... or even one of the Elite four!

    The only trailer I've heard of in Japan is the one for the 12th movie or such.

    Anyway, what do I think will happen?
    Ash does gyms, disposable female character does contests, Brock does nothing, 1 interesting rival out of 9000.

    What do I want to see happen?
    Ash enters a champion league or something; similar to gyms but more advanced. Disposable female character doesn't do contests. Either Brock stays or gets replaced by a jack-of-all-trades kind of character. Come on, you know you want to see someone who does a little bit of everything. xD Honestly, everyone in the show seems to have their life goals paved out for themselves already. :/ I wanna see someone who's indecisive. Oh, and a group of interesting and colorful rivals.
     
    I love the contests, but I think they should bring Max back. I mean, he'd be old enough by gen5 right? Maybe he'll want to travel with Ash again. I'd hope either May, Misty, or Tracey get replaced with Brock for just a season, then he can come back again.

    For rivals, Richie needs to come back =\ Along with Drew.
     
    I'd like to see Misty travel with Ash again, while both the boy and girl characters from the 5th gen games. And as for Brock... I'm sick of him. Replace him with Riley or Jun.

    If that is true. I would like to see evidence, and serebii.net. If not, god will kill Misty's chance of ever making a permanent appearance.

    But srsly, it's kinda early to think about Gen 5. At least let the 3rd DP movie come out in Japan :/
     
    I believe Ash will continue battling gyms, a new girl will start entering contests again, and Brock may just end up doing more in the 5th gen...

    What I would like to happen: I would like May to rejoin the group with max starting his journey in the hoenn, Brock comes along as well...but the new girl from the game has become May's newest rival......while the newest guy becomes Ash's rival as well....That's would I would really like to happen...
     
    i think next series will be elite 4 (like they did with battle frontier) a mini series sort of when ahs wins the sinnoh league

    then 5th gen he will stay as a trainer but i expect dawn to be replaced
     
    Max isn't going to rejoin the group as a trainer. If he does, he must be ten, so then the writers would have to admit that people actually age in the Pokemon world. I'd like to see misty return, because I'm something of a fan boy :P but i think its just going to be another disposable girl doing contests,plus that random dude who never does anything...what's his name...oh, yeh, Brock!

    well i just heard this from a friend who never seems to be wrong about pokemon so i guess it could be rong. however i don't really see wat is dumb about bringin misty back. some character developemnt other than gettin smarter wen it comes to pokemon battles and contests would be really nice to see
     
    Just thinking of all the possibilities is getting me excited.....for the animes side that is :P

    I hope it'll be better than DP, although, recently I've had increasing respect for Gen4. I used to hate it, it just kinda sucked to me compared to gen3, cuz Hoenn is the best region out there! :P

    Dawn's a really good coordinator. You know, I wouldn't mind an Ash/May/Brock/Dawn quadrouplet. I'd prefer Ashe, May, Max, and Misty, but what can you do. Either way, I'm getting physicked up! ^_^

    Why is not bringing Misty back on a permanent basis "smart"? I could see it helping to save the show since the majority of her fans have said that if she becomes a main character on the show again they would watch it. And even then people who are not fans of Misty would like to see the original main cast reunited permanently. Misty's departure is one of a few things I blame for the deterioration of the show along with the majority of the Advanced Generation fillers and the English dub voice cast change. From what I have seen both May and Dawn would have worked better as recurring characters appearing during the contesting parts of the show rather than main characters. There are also hints that this could very well be the last generation for the anime so we really should know IF there is going to be a fifth generation one in the first place.

    Oh dear.

    We loyal pious Misty fans have waited 6 years for the return of our glorious Messiah, who is prophesized to come and wipe away all that is bad about the anime. We have resisted the ever-advancing temptations of the Anti-Mistys, those two skunks, and await the greatest battle where the magnificent pious dress of our Messiah will triumph over their skunkyness. Who cares if we couldn't be bothered to do something else for 6 years? There have been signs, many, signalling her return over the years, and we see yet another upon the horizon! Pious Misty fans, the end is near!
     
    I honestly liked May the best, then Misty, and then Dawn. They're all really god though.

    It would be nice if all of the characters got together for at least a season. It would be a lot of people, but, worth it, IMO. There's Ash, Misty, Brock, Tracey, May, Max, and Dawn. And Pikachu, if ya count Pokemon.
     
    I think before the 5th Gen we'll have the Battle Frontier arc again, with the gang travelling through Johto. Perhaps by the time we get there there will be a Gold and Silver remake (so most likely the gyms would be re-done) so maybe Ash could work on the Battle Frontier, Dawn/May/Whoever could work on contests and another person (perhaps Jun) could do the gyms? Just for a change.

    I'd love for someone other than Ash to do gym challenges, maybe even Brock, he's finally have something productive to do!
