Charmeleon

We were never told. But it could have evolved, or was let go. Professor Oak might still have it, they haven't actually said that he doesn't have it anymore.
 
He travelled with it for years until he started handing out starters. It now sits in the back room and constantly spits out baby charmanders.

it was his strongest pokemon til he got his dragonite and charmeleon was left to rot...
 
Well, he does in the non-canon American special 'Mastermind Mirage'
