I was playing the new DS game over the weekend (why I haven't been on, FYI) and an idea occured to me for a deck. However, Konami seems to have left out a major piece of the idea, so all I can do right now is dream...

    Monsters: 30 (Yeah. Read on.)

    Tribute: 8
    3x Cyber Dragon
    1x Jinzo
    2x Blowback Dragon
    1x Spell Canceller
    1x Zaborg the Thunder Monarch

    Non-Tribute: 22
    3x Cyber-Proto Dragon
    3x Cyber Phoenix
    3x Magical Merchant
    3x UFO Turtle
    2x Adhesive Explosive
    1x Treeborn Frog
    1x Sangan
    1x Magician of Faith
    2x Mechanicalchaser
    1x Drillroid
2x Gear Golem the Moving Fortress

    Spells: 12
    1x Future Fusion
    2x Overload Fusion
    2x Dimension Fusion
    2x Giant Trunade
    1x Heavy Storm
    1x Graceful Charity
    1x Limiter Removal
    2x Book of Taiyou

    Fusion Deck:

    3x Chimeratech
    3x CED
    3x CTD

First off, I left out the traps and some of the spell staples on purpose (SORL, MST, etc). This deck is meant to win in a turn or two. But rest assured, a majority of them are sitting in the not-complete-yet side. Second, curse Konami for leaving Magical Merchant out of the game. Third, as I said, I'm playing Spirit Caller now, so if anyone wants to duel on there, I'm available.

Question: what do you do if you flip Magical Merchant and discard through a large amount of your creatures only to eventually pick your way to Future Fusion? Also, isn't Adhesive Explosive kind of counter productive for the fast KO concept seeing as it will have to sitt in your spell and trap card zone for one of your turns before it goes boom? Anyway, since you're not using any traps why don't you swap in at least one copy of Royal Decree? You can hardly expect to draw into Jinzo every time, after all. Gear Golem also seems like a bit of an odd choice for such an offensively minded deck, but that could just be me missing the point. It looks cool overall, even though Chimaeratech Overdragon is a bit of a cheapie card imo.

Oh, and out of curiosity: is the DS game good in terms of plot and does the AI know how to play? I've been toying with the idea of purchasing that one once I get my nice, shiny DS, but considering the general price levels of the games I don't feel like taking such a gamble. ^^

Well, that's certainly a possibility, but once all those monsters are in the grave my chances of drawing Overload Fusion goes up. I actually worry more about drawing Overload Fusion before I get a Cyber Dragon in the grave...but that's why I have cards like Adhesive Explosive & Gear Golem--to keep my opponent at bay just in case. And Cyber-Proto helps too, in its ability to take over for Cyber Dragon.

And as for "drawing" into Jinzo,...I don't need to. It's actually better if I DON'T. ...I'm not sure if the combo is getting across:

    1. Magical Merchant into Overload Fusion, or just have it already in hand and dump a bunch of random monsters, including Cyber Dragon

    2. Overload Fusion EVERYTHING

    3. DImension Fusion Spell Canceller, Jinzo, and both Blowback Dragons

    4. Use Blowback Dragon as needed to kill monsters, then direct attack with 20000+ ATK Chimeratech for game.

And, to satisfy your curiousity: Depends on if you like the anime GX or not. If you do, YES. If you don't, it's still got some plot (a bit more than NT did, IMO), but you might not get it all. I still highly recommend it, though, as the card base is nevertheless quite impressive and IT HAS WI-FI. 'Nuff said. Oh, and the AI is actually quite good (I've seen Jaden in particular make some rather impressive moves). In short, it isn't a gamble; if you like the card game, GET IT.

Okay, that explains a lot. (Sorry, my brain isn't working at its best atm, would you believe I forgot all about Dimension Fusion? -.-) The potential issues that I do still see here are 1) Your opponent playing Card Destruction while you're stuck with both copies of Overload Fusion dead in your hand, 2) Your opponent pulling off a Counter Trap when you play a key spell and negating it, and 3) Your opponent nailing the Merchant with Nobleman of Crossout. Still, it's fairly small risks versus huge gain so that's fine. You can never be 100% sure with a strategy, after all. ^^

Anyway, that does sound promising about the game (Is actually a downright sucker for the anime xD). I tried one of those...ahem, romed, and the AI just plain sucked. It could sitt there with a field full of strong creatures and was fully prepared to sap them all with Torrential Tribute only to kill of my little Kuriboh (Yes, I could actually beat 'em all with a deck built around Kuriboh, Cannon Soldier, and a heckuva lot of tokens. :O). With such recommendations, though, this new one does sound promising. I'll go for it when the occasion arises and pick you up on that WI-FI dueling thing you mentioned in your previous post once I've concocted a deck especially designed to cripple yours *Ahem* brushed up on my skills and strategies. Yes indeedy. xD

*head meets table* I forgot to add Card Destruction X(...ah well. And the main problems that the SC version has run into were someone MSTing Future Fusion before it went off and BTHing COD...but it still pulls through (thank goodness Stein's still around on there).

And, yeah, the only time you'll run into something like that is, oddly enough, on Wi-Fi (seriously, someone did something like thatO.O).m And go ahead and get some practice in. I've got ten other decks, anyway, including a couple that blow the pants off of this one XD

I would personally use Royal Decree Ichy.

Mabye take out a Magical Merchant and a Zaborg the Thunder Monarch for 2 Decrees. They can prove to be a good defense. 2 Merchants seems good and Zarborg just seems to add to the deck.

    Um.........

    - Zaborg the Thunder Monarch

    + Dark Magician of Chaos?

Yeah, Zaborg's a bit random, but it's there for monster destruction. DMOC...I cannot see in here, especially with the limited number of re-needed spells.

    ... I didn't catch this before, hm O.o;

    Cyber Proto Dragon is only a Cyber Dragon on the field, and not in the graveyard... >>;

    -3 Cyber Proto Dragon
    -1 Zaborg the Thunder Monarch
    -2 Mechanicalchaser
    +2 Royal Decree
    +1 Mirror Force
    +1 Drillroid
    +1 Torrential Tribute

Eh, like I said, I'm not a fan of the merchant dump for its unreliability and the possibility of monster hands without the merchant... It's just not future fusion.

I'll personally add in Kuriboh/Flute stall. It's instant negate attack, and it's searchable, making you deck thin all at once

I somewhat though DMOC as a way to re use some cards like Graceful Charity and Limiter Removal. Though you don't have any revival cards XD;, It's still a good side deck choice.

I know. It doesn't need to be. It's backup in case merchant somehow doesn't dump through an original.

I'll ignore that last line since you managed to cross it out...

Heh, second person to suggest Decree...even though it's actually sitting in the not-yet-finished side deck that I mentioned before...well, how could you know? After all, I haven't posted a completed version yet XP

Here's what it's got thus far:

    1x Premature Burial
    1x Call of the Haunted
    1x Swords of Revealing Light
    2x Royal Decree
    1x Mirror Force
    1x Magic Cylinder
    1x Ring of Destruction
    1x Barrel Behind the Door
    1x Card Destruction
