    STAMFORD, Conn., June 25, 2007 – World Wrestling Entertainment was informed today by authorities in Fayette County, Ga., that WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, his wife, Nancy, and his son were found dead in their home. Authorities are investigating, but no other details are available at this time.

    Instead of its announced programming for tonight on USA Network, WWE will air a three-hour tribute to Chris Benoit.

    Chris was beloved among his fellow Superstars, and was a favorite among WWE fans for his unbelievable athleticism and wrestling ability. He always took great pride in his performance, and always showed respect for the business he loved, for his peers and towards his fans. This is a terrible tragedy and an unbearable loss.

    It's a real shame, when I watched, he was one of the ones I liked. :/ It's really weird that the three of them died. It still hasn't hit me yet, like with Eddie Guererro. Hard to believe.
     
    I'm still wowed. Heard it less than ten minutes ago on TV. It's...such a tragedy; his entire family. How could all three of them die like that? It's heart wrenching; my heart goes out to his fans and I hope they find the killer.
     
    Indeed. I'm no wresling fan and I'm still shocked that someone would kill a man who has done nothing more than use his talent of Wrestling to support his family.
    My condolences are extended to all of his remaining family members and friends and to all of his fans who will miss him.
    I hope that they catch this criminal. He doesnt deserve to be allowed on the streets again. To kill a man for something trivial is one thing. But to kill his family as well is just plain heartless and cruel.
     
    Back when I used to watch wrestling, he used to be my favorite wrestler. He always was out there in the ring trying his best all the time, and never gave up.

    May he rest in peace.

    It truely saddens me that usch a talented person along with his family has been murdered. My wishes goes out for their family and friends.
     
    I know, it's terrible. I wanted to PM you about in before, John, but I didn't get to. I was going to make a thread like this for him too. He was one of my favorites, he was one of the wrestlers on the show who stayed one there for as long as I can remember. It's amazing how three of them died today, his whole family. But I wonder if it was murder? No articles mentioned blood, I don't think. First they fake Vinve Mcmahon's death [he was on the show today, alive, hehehe.] and then some one really dies. Since that happened, I don't think the writers should fake someone's death now. Hopefully this reminds them...

    I liked Chris Benoit back when I actually liked wrestling.

    Apparently he killed his wife and son sometime over the weekend and killed himself Monday.
    They know it wasn't anyone else because "the instruments of death were located on the scene." They found Benoit in his weight room, his wife in the living room, and his son in his bedroom. The autopsys are to be performed Tuesday (Today in my time) and information could take up to two weeks to be released.

    Things like this are just terrible to hear, I've had total respect for the man ever since I started watching wrestling, and have always liked him. No matter what he did, I will still have respect for him.

    If he were that depressed or something, he could've just done himself, but why the whole family? There's got to be some motive or something, but I guess no one will know.
     
    Honestly, I dont think it is a double murder Suicide. I'm gonna wait for the findings of the investigation.
    This smells like something a tabloid writer cooked up IMO.
    I dont see any motives that support the Double murder/suicide theory.
     
    But has that been proven? I agree that if he did have a steroid problem he could have killed his family in a 'roid rage and then kill himself days later because he was ashamed of what he had done. but if he didnt take steroids then I dont see any reason for a man to just randomly kill his family. All I'm saying is that this story is kinda fishy to me.

    I'm unsure of the steroids part, but it's been confirmed today that he did kill his wife and son on separate days. It's obvious he did it. His wife was killed Friday and his son the day after her. So they have been in the home dead for quite a while, then Benoit comes along and kills himself on Monday?

    I just find it hard to believe that his actually happened. Not trying to deny anyone, but ...

    That's why I'm not gonna accept the 'he murdered his family' theory until the officials release the results of the investigation. If they confirm the murder/suicide theory I'll accept it. But It's possible that the same person killed all 3 of them. And I think any criminal with half a brain can make a murder scene look like a suicide.
     
    I said it has been confirmed. It was during a press conference, confirmed by the district attorney of Fayette County. What kind of half-brained criminal would kill three people on different days in different rooms of the home and then leave the Bible next to the wife and son's bodies? And why murder a pro-wrestler?

    Yeah, it says in the newspaper here: It is thought Chris Benoit strangled his wife Nancy and smothered his son Daniel before hanging himself at his mansion. He pulled out of Vengance on Sunday due to a family emergency. After strange text messages were sent to his friends, police went to the home of the ex-wrestling champion in Atlanta GA, and found the bodies.

    After hearing this, it has hit me already. R.I.P. Chris Benoit.

    I can not believe people are giving well wishes to a double murderer and completely overlooking his wife and son. Just goes to show that as long as you're a good entertainer, people can look past the fact that you strangled an innocent seven year old child and a mother to death. It sickens me.
