Purge me now of thoughts of blaming you
"Wait, Damien. If she is doing this, then why on earth do you want her to come here? She's already made it pretty clear that she's not playing nice."
Elizabeth initiated a grip on the male's arm. Damien didn't look at her. Instead, his eyes were lost in the horizon, and his brain was willfully expecting Yuki to pop out of nowhere, a crisp breeze and chirps of ice following her path.
"Because we need to know what is she doing here…"
"You called?"
She was there, standing in afront of the duo. Yuki Nivosus, the gifted of ice, Damien's protégé. Seeing her again was shocking. Her bunny ears and tail and cerulean hair was something that wasn't forgotten easily, especially if you spent time with them most of the year. Each night, he couldn't help but to reminisce about it, pondering. But this Yuki seemed a bit different. They air of innocence that was once present in her pale face had disappeared, and she seemed wasted and bloodthirsty. "Yuki…" Damien muttered.
"Oh, and Elizabeth too? What a surprise. Heh. Interesting, I'm assuming Midian, and the rest of the 'gifted' didn't come back? Hah!"
Elizabeth applied more pressure on Damien's elbow. Damien just stared, fists clenched and feet slowly arranging themselves into a defensive stance. What did she mean? Elizabeth cursed Damien in between whispers before Yuki spoke yet again.
"So, tell me. How's Kenji, Minnie, the rest of the group?"
A ruthless and hypocritical smile appeared on Yuki's face, and this flustered Damien. He didn't hesitate in answering, though; deciding to play her game for as long as he could. Maybe it'd give time for Kenji, Minnie, or other teacher to evacuate students into a safe place in case Yuki had bad intentions… Option which seemed reasonably viable.
"They're doing fine. How have you been, Yu—?"
"So you're the one the one that murdered the man."
And unfamiliar voice pierced the atmosphere, interrupting Damien and breaking the calm tone. The male looked back to see the girl he stumbled upon earlier that morning. She had plopped out of nowhere, and she had a decided look on her bi-colored eyes. She was creepy. Damien was worried. He was sure this girl hadn't been here last year, she didn't know Yuki. She didn't know she was daughter of Arceus and that she could manipulate ice to kill her with the blink of an eye. He got nervous. Oh, and also, what the hell did she mean by saying Yuki killed a man? Like, last year? Or today? Damien gasped as he heard Yuki reply.
—"Oh? What do we have here? I didn't know there was one of your kind here."
—"My kind? You've lost it.".
—"Ahahahahahahahahahahaha! Lost it have I? I see that residents of blood lust in your eyes! You're just as mad as men then! Ahahaha!"
—"Damned sadist..."
—"Sadist am I? I have my reasons for wanting to kill these two FOOLS!" Yuki turned back to Elizabeth and Damien. "Now what should I do with you two? Freeze you to death? Crush you with my ice? So many possibilities. I've gotten so much stronger over the summer Damien. No thanks to you, or the gifted. I found my true calling. And that's to destroy everyone and everybody. Ha-ha! Arceus never gave a damn about me. I was born to be use, ha-ha! But I defied my so called creator! Ha-ha-ha-ha!"
Fools? Damien's fury was building up. Ahem, had she forgotten that hadn't it been for Damien, Yuki wouldn't have lasted the first night on Campus? Why would she want to kill them? For all Damien knew, she had no reason to do so. She had been brainwashed. I mean, even Damien's book, the one he had given to Elizabeth, stated that the Gifted wouldn't turn against Arceus. She was breaking divine rules, and that wasn't ok. Yuki was crazy, and this scared Damien a bit, for even though he knew Elizabeth was the Gifted of fire, she probably hadn't developed her powers like Yuki did, and the icey one was set on killing them. Damien feared for his life, but he didn't flinch or stutter. He had to stop Yuki one way or another. Zero growled, and the shady female spoke again.
"Defy your creator what the hell are you ranting on about you crazed sadist?"
This girl needed to shut up right now before the layer of ice covering her reached her head. I mean, she was taking the hits for Damien and Elizabeth, kudos to her, but Damien didn't want anyone want to die. Interrupting Yuki's evilness came out Kenji out of nowhere, and he was mounted on his graceful Rapidash. "Yuki! Someone's not happy to see me? You don't want to get burned. Arceus created you, but that doesn't mean he won't take you back."
"What does Arceus know about me? What does that pathetic excuse for a god know? If he wants to take me back then he would have done it already. He doesn't take me back because he doesn't want me back. No one wanted me. Not you, not Damien, not Midian... No one wanted me... That is until team Darkwing...But that's another story saved for later... No one wanted me. That pathetic excuse for a god left me on this earth, and left me with no family, friends, or ANY company. You all abandoned me. So why should I have to deal with you? Minnie, Kenji, Midian, Elizabeth, Damien...everyone on this earth is pathetic."
Damien lost it. What the hell was Yuki rambling about? Arceus didn't want her? She belonged to Arceus. She was Arceus. Just like all the other gifted. No one wanted her? This hurt Damien. It showed how hypocritical people could be, then. In countless ways had Damien demonstrated he cared for her last year, having saved her life plenty times. You needed more limbs to count the amount of times he nearly died for saving Yuki, going past the guardian thing to actually consider her a friend. One of the very few she had. And now, a summer later, she was babbling about this? It made no sense. Who the hell was Darkwing, anyway? The group of nutjobs responsible of inculcating all this lies on her head? But Damien remained quiet. His emotions overcame him, and his throat was blocked. A thousand emotions were displayed in his eyes, nevertheless. The girl, now free from her icy tomb, spoke.
—"Lady you got some REAAAAAAAL issues to work out."
—"Issues? Hah, stupid vampire. You've had a sheltered life, what would you know?"
—"I know a lot more then you might think, about having no family to call your own. People disappearing on you. And being let down, I know a lot about that."
—"It's my time to leave, I suppose I must go. I hope the next time we meet; I will get to kill you. Until then. Ta-ta for now."
One second and a smoke bomb later, Yuki disappeared. What had this been? Crap, that was it. There was no better way to put it. Still passenger of the train of thought, Damien felt someone pushing him. Elizabeth had given a shove, standing in front of his with an angry look. Her hands were hot, and the shove, more than feeling like a physical hit, felt like a sunburn. Had Damien applied resistance, Elizabeth would've helplessly bounced back; but no, instead, Damien took the hit and gave a step back so he wouldn't fall.
"You idiot! You… You… Gah, there's no way to describe how stupid you are! You could have warned me before you tried to summon the beast that was doing this to the school in the first place. I mean, what were you going to do if she tried to freeze you and Zero wasn't strong enough to save your big stupid butt, breathe out a lot of warm air? Stupid, stupid, stupid! And—wait, did she say vampire? Next time you decide to pull something this thick-headed, at least take the time to warn me."
Because of his lost gaze, one could've presumed Damien completely ignored Elizabeth. In a way, he did, but he had somehow managed to catch everything she said, only building up his anger. He couldn't be mad at her, it was understandable and Damien sort of felt the same way; but years of hiding his emotions had made it instinct. This didn't mean, though, that Elizabeth had a reason to say that to Damien. Elizabeth spoke again, now turning her attention to Kenji. Damien noticed how her bag slung in air and was aimed to hit him. With a pissed off grimace, Damien caught the bag with one hand right before it hit him and then gave it a tug, pulling Elizabeth back and making her lose her balance. With luck, he'd made her fall right on her butt. That'd teach her a lesson.
After clearing his throat, Damien turned around, headed to the new girl. Who was this figure? Warily, he approached. She was resting on her knees, fatigued.
"Are you Ok?" Damien asked as he stretched his hand towards her in an offer to help her up. He owed her one, for, again, she took the hits for Damien. Looking at her, honestly, was disturbing. The serious case of heterochromia displayed in her eyes, coupled with the choice of attire, hair and canines made her more than scary. But who was Damien to judge a book by its cover?
"Who are you?" He asked intrigued as his hazel eyes sparkled, wondering why this girl had appeared in the midst of an incoming fight.
