Question: Clan Threads?

I don't. We were all talking and helping each other out and all that. So then SOMEONE (no idea who) banned my friend for probably talking his mind, which always happens to him because of this crap. Now if he did something other than talk his mind, then maybe he got booted for a reason. But I think that the clans should have been kept alive, since it was only spam in the clan, not like here. I think we should ALL have a vote on whether they stay or not.

Your friend was not banned for speaking his mind.
He was banned for having an inappropriate name.
Anyways most clans did have very little battling going on.
And a lot of spam, we really don't need clans.
You can always make groups.

I have a favorable opinion of clans. Massgate, the official on-line service for the game World in Conflict. Each clan has it own private forum to secretly discuss tactics and there is usually no spam in thous forum.

They were leftover from the people who were moderator of D/P before me. In fact, my predecessors disobeyed a ruling from the administration in allowing clans in the first place.

Let it be known that your "predecessors" worked very hard on maintaining the Diamond/Pearl forum to a state that you never achieved on your own.

I find it insulting that you throw the blame on me, Shiny Umbreon, Derrick, as well as TwilightBlade for your incompetence and inability to realize that you're partly to blame for this as well.

Just concentrate on your behind instead of trying to give others a bad image while knowing that yours isn't at stake.

anyway there are other forums that allow clans so just go there, it's not much of a problem , i am not saying i agree with apostle since my clan was closed too, but it's their decision if they want to close clans and we can't do anything about it,

Oh, really? Last I checked, he's simply stating the truths and facts about it - how it went through without the approval of administration to significantly change the purpose of the forum from what it was intended to be?

The plans to change the format of the battle stadium back to how it originally was started when those forums needed new staff working on it.

I'd really like to hear how you would "worked very hard on maintaining the Diamond/Pearl forum to a state" that Luke and the current staff couldn't achieve, though. I think you're hyping your own work up, to be frank.

If it was that wrong, why didn't Genius Apostle mentioned it? To be honest, clans weren't allowed one day by mods. They were actually appearing themselves. There weren't any rules about them, so they became spammy. And that's where the old mods put his effort, in organizing things. Personally, I didn't know administration had disallowed, and I apologize, but since nobody said anything at all, I guess the fault is not solely ours, or maybe nobody cared.

And, to Apostle as well, let's not forget we did make a good job. So don't start disrespecting us either. There was no point in that.

i know this not my buisiness but why has this turned into a mod discussion thread? and plus there is no reason for this thread to be open, clans are banned and thats not going to change.

This is how I would do things:
If the clans were reopened I would assign one mod to each clan, and put stricter rules on the clans, such as no talking about how your day was going and such things,,,

Is it just me or has the forum lag gone down since the clans were closed I mean I have had no problems the past few day's logging in and reading threads?

First off, on the case of bans, staff don't ban members for no reason. And the discussion of other member bans are only left to the staff and that particular member, so you can drop that here and now. Secondly, I don't see how you can't understand with all the numerous reasons that've been provided. A vote would be pointless, honestly. Why? Because keeping clans would only continue the complete mess they've caused for all this time. The clans and member depreciation of the sub-forum resulted in its overall end. Period. They're going back to the original purpose of the sub-forum, individual battle threads, etc.

As Apostle previously stated... clans were never in the plan with administration, were created, and lasted pretty long, but with all the problems that have been happening over the past several months, it was time to cut the cord. By simply reading any of the previous statements in this thread, and the announcement should make things clear to understand. So, clans were banned for multiple reasons, and there are countless alternate ways to battle, make friends, and most importantly... have fun. =D

Yeah I found out what happened afterwards... Why did you mods realize it just then? And did it matter that much? Also, I just really liked the clans, so when they closed, I basically left and don't come here much.

I suggest that the leader of the clan be able to moderators there own clan forums. The regular moderators can check to see if the clan mod is doing his/her job.

While this thread is still here, pardon me for asking what will most likely look like a stupid and "out-of-line" question, but:

If clans were becoming so much of a hassle to deal with, then why were the forum's three moderators still allowing them to go through?

I really don't remember what they said before but I think they had to get permission from the Admins.

^^ Like Hiroshi said, but also because there wasn't a rule previously on no Clans. Now that there is, Clans will obviously be no longer allowed through.

To be quite honest, I am definately happy that these Clans are gone. There came a time where we had 6 or 7 opening daily, and then quickly died, and threads often weren't well thought-out or planned. Since the removing of clans, it seems we're finally able to see some actual battle threads, because very rarely did battles actually occur in these threads, even though that was meant to be the purpose.
