Clash in the Finals: ABYAY vs. chaos herax

Okay, so here I am in the finals of a tournament taking place on Doug's Create-a-Pokemon server. Basically, someone brought it together on the server for 8 people, and I decided "Heck, my team's faring well, I'll give it a go." So anyway, I had to deal with every custom Pokemon on that server in first and second rounds. Syclant's a sweeping whore that is overpowered in terms of moves that I had to put to sleep early on just to stop it from killing me. Revenankh isn't too bad, but if it sets up, you're in trouble. Pyroak is a beastly tank that I had to flinch hax to kill early on. So yeah... hax was also on my side. Now, in the finals, I faced chaos herax, and this was my first time ever against him. Luckily, he didn't use any of the CAP server's custom Pokemon, so I don't need to describe them.

This is a long battle, and might be boring, but still, this put my team to the test. A couple of screw-ups put me and him into certain positions.

I set up Reflect as a team standard to lighten up the hits from physical Dragons *stares at Garchomp*...He Stealth Rocks, which my team has a 2x and a 4x weak to it, 3 neutralities, and 1 2x resistance. To conclude, Stealth Rock can be troublesome.

Alright, so here's where it gets VERY interesting. I'm down to Salamence and Forretress, and he has Garchomp, Heatran, and Hippowdon. First proven fact, Garchomp wins over both of my Pokemon with the correct planning, but on a good note, my Pokemon are both in good shape, while his are weakened up (Garchomp has 40%, Hippowdon's treadin around 15%, and Heatran is about 75%). All for the best, here goes all that my team can afford to give!

Now that I think about it, this could've costed me the game on the critical hit. Now..I know you're all thinking how in the world does a critical hit put me in a bad position? Well, here's how, and it's pretty...unique. If I didn't crit, he would've ended up stalling and killing Forretress with Slack Off/Earthquake. I'll send in Salamence, and get this...Dragon Dancing with not being phazed. His Hippowdon couldn't touch Salamence. The only way he could've won at that point was to send in Garchomp, praying for a miss with Sand Veil.

Okay, so this is my first time actually spending about 6-7 hours working on this in Wordpad, and who knows how long on the forums itself. Now for the big plays and big misplays.

Big Plays:

• chaos herax for the insane battle
• Forretress hanging on at the end.
• Swampert dealing some major blows.
• Salamence for tankin it out through so many SR switch-ins

Big Misplays:

• Yanmega for doing little for the team
• Cresselia losing to Garchomp (my mistake on the Reflect.)
• Occasional mistakes by me and chaos.

Of course, I was highly congratulated on winning the CAP tourney against Pokemon this team isn't even designed to counter, and I ended up facing Bass, the tourney holder, afterwards. If you all want me to post it, I will if I get enough requests to do so.

For those who enjoyed it, I'm glad you did, and for those who didn't, I'm sorry for that.

Everyone, this is a prime example of battle log selection, these are the thrillers you post.

That was incredible. In my opinion, it was simply awesome. Early going it seemed hax was all on your side, and I'm like "What's going to be his problem" then Garchomp showed up. (Wish I was there, I would've screamed my chant "EFF YEAH GARCHOMP! <3" and that wow ending. That is a battle log. That was a great read, you gave good amount of commentary situation wise. You both played pretty well, hax is hax, I loved it honestly. Just a great battle. And finally an introduction longer than a sentence or two. :D Nice effort as well.

Yeah, it gets tiring, but remember, you have an inbox for a reason. If you're ever tired when making a battle log. "Stop, PM yourself the log, and get some rest" Basically how I sum that up. XD You posted this at 3AM (my time) XD

Colour wise, would be better you colour code the score the same way. Make you orange instead of blue with the higher score. Reason because you're already providing the battler's name, so mine as well just colour them the same as the log. ;D

edit: Another thing, might want to sum up the health left (Like Aquilae's score format) whenever the score rolls around or something. Just so we can get a general idea at who's this who's that with health. ;)

I don't see why you used Earthquake instead of Gyro Ball on Garchomp besides Heatran (I seriously doubt anyone switches that in) but the log was still good. =D

The extreme amount of work that's going to give me will be insane, but I WILL consider it if I must. Also, I'll code the colors of score in unison with the names mentioned (orange and blue most likely). I just like the score balance where the person with more has a different color and vice versa. Ah well, pleasing others is better.

Also D.S, I kept quaking because I wanted to ensure Heatran couldn't come in safely and potentially burn Salamence. Gyro Ball wouldn't have made a difference in OHKOing or 2HKOing Garchomp anyway, so yeah...

It's like all the OU battles are the same.. in the beggining everyone is setting up stuff, and in the end it's Garchomp vs whatever. That's probably why I dislike defensive teams so much.

But yeah, it was nicely played, despite the hax which was mainly on your side. That Earthquake crit on Hippo really screwed him up, he could've used Slack Off and set up SR again, killing Forrey with earthquakes. That Outrage on Garchomp was really misplayed.

Actually Sya, I just realized. If he had killed Forretress with Hippowdon, here's what would've happened. I would've sent in Salamence, and then Dragon Dance up without trouble. His Hippowdon couldn't touch Salamence since it had no other attacking moves. The only way he could've won at that point was to avoid death with Sand Veil hax on Garchomp, or somehow outstall me with Hippowdon. To conclude, it would've probably been better if Hippowdon wasn't crit. Therefore...that was one of the first times that getting a critical hit wasn't really wanted.

Thanks much for your input, and I'll hopefully upload a UU log for you if I get a good one.
