4th Gen Clefairy- Magic Guard or Cute Charm?

I have just recently caught a Female Clefairy with the ability Magic Guard in Pokemon Soul Silver..
I just not sure which one is better though. I like Cute Charm, but Magic Guard also seems very useful at the same time.
Please give opinions, which is better! Thanks

Magic guard is considered better in general. Cute Charm only activates if the opposing Pokemon is of the opposite gender and uses physical attacks, and even then it's only a 50% chance. Magic Guard however makes you immune to taking damage via status, sandstorm and so forth; although that is more something of importance with competitive battling. In-game it's less important but I would say Magic Guard is the superior ability.
