Cloning: Your opinions on it.

I clone legendaries and event pokemon. And why not? You can only get one legendary in each game, and unless you buy two games, you'll never get a chance to catch another. When that same legendary is a version-exclusive (here's looking at you, Kyogre and Groudon), who in their right mind would trade their only copy of it? So, as in the above case, I cloned my (SS) Groudon and traded it for a cloned Kyogre.

That being said, I will NOT clone any pokemon that you can get normally in the games.

stop makin up false numbers to make urself look smart :P

false? smart?? :P?!?
me and my team of scientists worked for months calculating that percentage and you're saying i made it up? you've got another thing coming

i just like rare pkmn to be rare and if two of the same souls existed it would rip space and cause a giant, all-consuming black hole. that took 3 weeks of research

They are also other code and stuff. As far as i know, the data for the pkmn isnt in the sprite

that went way over your head mate -_-"

the same soul can be in the same point in time, at the same location, as long as the 2 do not interact, or do not notice they are the same, the "apocalyptic theory" is highly unlikely

there can be multiple of the same soul at any given point in time, due to Reincarnation, & Forceful Reincarnation (reincarnation triggered the person, not natural reincarnation)

understand now?

Umm, in my humble opinion, it's a game, so cloning a Pokemon is equivalent to, say, the Konami Code. Your game is your game, and you can manipulate the code as you please.

But the copies of souls would indirectly react due to the butterfree effect and cause ill effects

the konami code is isolated to one game. pkmn is a global entity that many users interact wif, yo.

I don't have a big problem with cloning. Technically speaking, I can't have a problem with it, else I'd be a huge hypocrite. Though the only reason I clone is to keep a copy of my pokémon on my GBA cartridge when using the Pal Park.

true. but it depends on the strength of the soul, most souls barely even register, you would need an exceptionally strong willed soul.
think of it as droppin a rock, and a nail into water
the rock makes a bigger splash, but the nail creates longer lastin effects.
either way theres still reprocautions.

But the same concept applies. When you input the Konami Code, you're making a conscious choice to alter your gameplay (I am NOT getting into the morals of cheat codes. Let's keep a lid on that can of worms). When you clone/trade for a cloned pokemon, you're making a choice.

"But the GTS will be spammed with fake legendaries!" you may cry out.

1. This isn't a MMORPG. There is no economy. Lotsa legendaries, no legendaries, it makes no difference on your copy.
2.If the difference is notable enough, than just avoid the cloned legendaries. There, problem solved.

EDIT: Reprocautions?

Hitherwince, I think you just inventated a-

Okay, sorry.

OH volroc i gotz the perfectz way you can get dis shiz YO!

and there kinda is a economy for traders. without cloning, ppl would want a LOT more for their perfectly ev'd pkmn

However, you can trust that those traders will, in the interest of fair play, abide by the rules in the same way they would if there were no cloned pokemon, so I find your argument moot.

And the GTS kills the point of legendaries in the first place. Think about it, thousands of "Rare" Pokemon...

in exchange for thousands of other "rare" pkmn
