Close calls in your games

So basically what the title says, was there any time in a playthrough where you thought your mons won't make it, but they did?

Mine is a spoiler for a nuzrun I plan to document.

So I was playing through Der Erif (a hack) and was at the 3rd gym. I was at one of the gym trainers who had a Drought Ninetales, and so I summoned my Quagsire. I was like "water attacks are weaker now? Loool i have Earthquake". And then out of the blue, Ninetales then used....Solarbeam.




Yes. Solarbeam. I knew my Quagsire was doomed. I was ready, I prepared for it. I nearly tried to soft reset the battle again.....







But.....Quagsire tanked it. He tanked a freaking Solarbeam he went from like 221 HP all the way to just 1 HP. He really tanked it. I mean yeah, no STAB, but it's a freaking 4x weakness. I stared at the screen for a while before Ninetales fell to an Earthquake.

So what close calls did you guys have in playthroughs?

The most memorable one that happened recently was in a Platinum playthrough this year against Cynthia, there was many close calls in that fight but against her Garchomp I only survived by one hit point to use blizzard, now that was close.

This one time when i was playing through Pokemon platinum i decided to battle and attempted to beat all of the frontier brains which i managed to do (after some time) Up to the close call While i was fightning Palmer he managed to knock out all of my Pokemon expect one Which was my Froslass and he had his Milotic left both of our HP was about 20% But i got super lucky and managed to hit A thunder on his Milotic which lead to my Victory.
