I've started again on Colosseum, and set myself a new challenge. The challenge is to go through the entire game, using only the Espeon and Umbreon you start with. Neither is allowed to faint, and you also have to snag all 48 Pokemon just using these two.

So far I'm not doing too badly.

    Stats:
    Play Time: 5:00
    Espeon level: 42
Move List: Psybeam, Return, Reflect, Psych Up
    Umbreon level: 42
Move List: Bite, Secret Power, Taunt, Confuse Ray

Pokemon snagged: Makuhita, Quilava, Furret, Noctowl, Meditite, Slugma, Swablu, Hitmontop, Qwilfish, Remoraid, Mantine, Flaaffy, Misdreavus, Skiploom, Quagsire, Dunsparce

    Pokemon missed: Yanma, Sudowoodu

    Next Pokemon to snag: Entei

Oh boy, look what's next on my list. Dakim is a pain at the best of times with his Earthquake/Protect strategy, it's gonna be even harder trying to keep the two alive (especially Espeon). I just hope Reflect helps enough. I'm going through Phenac Colosseum first to level up a bit more, then off to Mt Battle to face Dakim.

Hey, it's not been easy for me either.

My toughest snag so far has to be Misdreavus. Without Espeon's Reflect, he would have been taken out in one hit with Shadow Ball. It's costing me a fortune in Super Potions (HP are too low for Hyper Potions, and in the next part I can get some Lemonades which are so much better for healing).

Dakim is going to be marginally worse, due to his main strategy, and the fact he has a legendary beast to snag. Metang will take several hits to take down, Marshtomp and Camerupt isn't too bad, Golem is perhaps his easiest to defeat, and all the while you are healing all the Earthquake damage you take. (and just hope Entei misses with his Fire Blast attack) God I love Reflect, it's the only reason Espeon has survived so far.

o_0 I am impressed. The only way I'd be able to do that is with Action Replay.
If you do manage to finish, congratulations!

Next time try with only Espeon or Umbreon or one of the three pokemon like Quilava,Bayleef...

    Also try without healing items.

Well, the main reason I'm doing it this way is for EV training purposes. If I can do it right, I can purify all the Shadow Pokemon without messing up their EVs, which means I can get a properly EV trained legendary dog or two for my GBA team (Raikou or Suicune, not decided yet).

    Update:
    Time played: 11:16
    Espeon level: 59
Move list: Psychic, Return, Reflect, Morning Sun
    Umbreon level: 60
Move list: Bite, Secret Power, Moonlight, Confuse Ray

Pokemon snagged: Makuhita, Quilava, Furret, Noctowl, Meditite, Slugma, Swablu, Hitmontop, Qwilfish, Remoraid, Mantine, Flaaffy, Misdreavus, Skiploom, Quagsire, Dunsparce, Ledian, Gligar, Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Stantler, Granbull, Delibird, Ariados, Sudowoodo, Piloswine, Sneasel, Sunflora, Forretress, Vibrava

    Pokemon missed: Yanma, Murkrow, Aipom

Pokemon purified: Slugma, Quilava, Flaaffy, Skiploom, Makuhita, Noctowl, Remoraid

    Next Pokemon to snag: Skarmory

    Current location: Realgem Tower

Man, I seem to have rushed through this. Maybe it's because I'm not trying to purify by battling all the Shadow Pokemon. Incidentally, if a Shadow Pokemon is in your party, and you walk around with them and participate in battles, even if they do not battle themselves, the heart guage does go down eventually. This is how I managed to purify the few Pokemon I have done (I've usually done 3 times that number by now).

Next up is Gonzap, and his Skarmory is gonna be a right pain (as always). The rest of his team are pretty tough too, but I'm gonna go through The Under Colosseum to level up first. After that I'll give Mt Battle a go, but with only 2 Pokemon to use the harder levels are gonna be the toughest so far. I reckon I'll need to be around 70-75 to take on Evice though (and about level 80-90 for the Deep Colosseum).
