Come this december...

How much did it cost you? I'm thinking about upgrading from my gaming laptop to an equivalent or better gaming PC sometime next year, but I'm also a poor student xD

jk I'm not that poor (compared to other students at least), but if I was going to get a gaming PC it would need to come out of my savings I think.

You can build a decent PC with good name brands parts if you shop smart. ~1k~ can get you a decent build to start with and upgrade from there!

So somewhere in between £1000 and ~£1419. Sweet. I think the investment is worth it, especially as I'd be able to upgrade parts individually, which I can't do with a laptop.

I had a go at picking out parts on one of those part picker websites, and it came out at around £1200 (had an i7 but also a less powerful graphics card, but according to the reviews it could run games just fine). Makes my dad's PC (which was over £2000) seem way too pricey haha (but then he did want a 4K, 3D-ready, 144hz monitor, which (apart from the 144hz) seems unnecessary to me, and also the best parts for most other stuff too (including VR compatibility). he's not even rich idk why he spent that much money xD)

I'll probably ask either my dad or my friends who do Computer Science for advice on which parts to get, but I'll probably stick to that price range of ~£1000 - ~£1400. Thanks guys!

Also yeah, I'm pretty sure the only EA game I own is Spore, and I'm certainly not planning on getting any more. Even if there was a Spore 2. They'd probably make you pay for the best parts or spend 40 hours grinding for them. Ugh.
