3rd Gen Compatibility issues

This has probably been brought up before but I can't find it in recent threads.

I bought Pokemon Emerald recently to play on my DS but everytime I tried saving the game and continuing to play, the game file would become corrupted.
I then looked on the back of the packaging and it said GBA only. Obviously a careless mistake on my part.

Just wanted to know are there any pokemon GBA games that are compatible with the Nintendo DS?

The Emerald I have is compatable with the Nintendo DS System. Yours might not be a legit version of Emerald.

This sounds like other fake copies i've heard about..
What is the colour of your Emerald cart?

It should look like this -

Pokémon Emerald Game Pak

If it is dark grey like a standard GBA cart, then it is definitely a fake version.
And the DS was released after the GBA games, so the compatability warning on the back of the GBA box wouldn't state anything about DS compatability anyways ~

That's...Weird. Perhaps a fake? Lord only knows what jerks sell fake copies of games. Definately report it and get the guy who gave it to you in trouble...

Unless of course it's not a fake and you're version is just broke. Either way, get a refund.

Ah, yes you're right about Emerald. All of the other Pokémon games don't say though.
I can't remember when Emerald was released, but i'm sure it was before the DS' came out :O
Maybe they put it on in advance..

I never thought of that... I got mine around the end of summer last year. (and I KNOW mine is legit- I've done the migration test, and it worked like normal, plus I bought mine at Circut City with my own money.)
Emerald I got for Christmas last year... dunno where dad got it, but my friend once migrated from it, and it worked fine too.
Sapphire is apparently legit too, seeing as I've migrated nearly everything I had from there :p
