Question: Competitions with a money prize.

    Not sure if this sort of thing would be allowed, but I might as well ask. So I was thinking, that if I were to make some sort of competition for something in a certain area (with that moderator's permission), that I would be allowed to offer a prize of say, Tier 2 Supporter Status?

    Now I have no intentions of doing this right now (since I have no money), but I think it could be a good idea. If I were the one giving out the donation for another person using my own money (because I love the community), would that be allowed?

    This is something that I am thinking up for VG, but I am going to do it out of my own back pocket. So if you are feeling really pro-active and giving, you could do it that way. But, like Jake said, you would have to ask Steve.​

    The only issue I really see with it is that when you start handing out prizes that affect status on the forums (as opposed to emblems or banners, etc.), especially with monetary value, it makes the contest seem that much more official so in addition to getting Steve's approval, you should probably make sure you run it by (and possibly run it WITH) the moderator of whichever forum it's in, or a higher staff member if there isn't one. :3
