While I may only be playing Battle Spot, battling my friends, and competing in pokecommunity tournaments, I still want to make a team. I am newish to pokemon and I have been thinking about team building. I haven't gotten around to it not because I can't breed (I can pretty well), but because I can't EV train. Anyways, I just want to show you my prospective team and I need you guys to point out major weaknesses and things I could do better. Should I switch out a pokemon or switch items? I'm sorry if this is a lot of work. I have some questions as well.

Stalling. It is my favorite strategy in any game I play. I love stalling. It annoys the other player/team and prevents them from doing much damage to me or my team. I feel it is the stragety for me because I always love the saying- "a good defense is better than a good offense". I find this true in football and basketball, and many other sports/ video games. So, my question is: is stalling a cheap and/or unfair stragety. I don't like to use over powered anything (I only have 2 OU pokemon on my team). My plan is to lead with either blastoise or infernape, and go from there. Because this a stall team, I only have two all out attackers (blastoise and infernape). I have one pokemon that tanks both physical and special hits (mega venusaur). I have a special wall (Florges) and a physical wall (Dusclops). I felt the need for a bulky pokemon, but I also needed a good attacker. So Scrafty fits that description very well.

Is confuse ray a cheap tactic as well?

Are any of the moves or pokemon I have chosen banned/ cheap/ unfair?

    How is my team?

What would you change about it?

    Ok, here it is:

    Infernape
    Ability: iron fist
    Item: life orb
    EV's: max speed and attack
    Nature: jolly
Moveset: protect, thunder punch, Mach punch, flare blitz

    Blastoise
    Ability: torrent
    Item: choice scarf
EV's: max speed and special attack
    Nature: ???
Moveset: scald, hydro pump, ice beam, dark pulse

    Dusclops
    Ability: pressure
    Item: eviolite
    EV's: max hp and defense
    Nature: impish
Moveset: will-o-wisp, confuse ray, pain split, ???

    Florges
    Ability: flower veil
    Item: leftovers
EV's: max hp and special defense
    Nature: calm
    Moveset: toxic, wish, protect, moonblast

    Venusaur
    Ability: thick skin
    Item: venusaurite
EV's: max hp and special defense
    Nature: bold
Moveset: toxic, leech seed, synthesis, giga drain

    Scrafty
    Ability: shed skin
    Item: big root
    EV's: max hp and attack
    Nature: adamant
Moveset: drain punch, ice punch, dragon tail, bulk up

Anywhere there is a question mark, can you tell me what to put there? I have tried to make unconventional sets with them and used uu or under pokemon. How is my team?

I know this isn't a trade forum, but I need pokerus at all costs. Life orb and choice scarf is appreciated. But most of all, I need a duskull/ Dusclops/ dusknoir to breed. (I'll trade a 5 iv good nature larvesta for anything). I'll see what else I can give you.

Is there anything I'm missing? If you want to trade, I'll give you my thing (I forget what it's called) so we can trade. I can't go on for the next few days, unfortunetely.

Thank you so much for the help and for reading all of this!

    Yo!

Infernape: You said you like stall, i dont see why nape is here since it is pretty frail but a anti-lead set would do you much better
    Infernape @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Blaze
    EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
    Hasty Nature
    - Stealth Rock
    - Fake Out
    - Overheat
    - Close Combat

if you still want a more offensive presence you could opt for a mixed set
    Infernape @ Life Orb
    Ability: Iron Fist
    EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
    Hasty Nature
    - Thunder Punch
    - U-turn
    - Overheat
    - Close Combat

you could go entirely physical and change overheat to flare blitz as well for that use EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef,olly Nature

Blastoise: idk why blastoise is here also greninja does what your set does better. plus a blastoise is a very poor scarf user and cannot dish hits in the ou meta game either way.

    Greninja @ Life Orb
    Ability: Protean
    EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
    Timid Nature
    - Hydro Pump
    - Ice Beam
    - Hidden Power [Fire]
    - Dark Pulse

dusclops: dusclops is something i never use in ou and mons like cofarigus or sableye does what it does better, overall it is outclassed by a lot of things.
I dont see this much of a stall team and i would prefer aegislash in this spot. since it can take hits as well as dish some out.
    Aegislash @ Leftovers
    Ability: Stance Change
    EVs: 252 SDef / 248 HP / 8 Atk
    Sassy Nature
    IVs: 0 Spd
    - Toxic
    - Substitute
    - Pursuit
    - Gyro Ball

this set doesnt seem so interesting at first but its a good way to scare and stall your opponent at the same time. but if you want a more offensive aegi
    Aegislash @ Leftovers
    Ability: Stance Change
    EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
    Gentle Nature
    IVs: 0 Spd
    - King's Shield
    - Shadow Ball
    - Flash Cannon
    - Sacred Sword

you could even try the sd/shadow sneak/sacred sword combo.

Florges: florges is outclassed by sylveon, sylveon passes a bigger wish and has a more offensive presence with pixilate.
    Sylveon @ Leftovers
    Ability: Pixilate
    EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
    Calm Nature
    - Hyper Voice
    - Protect
    - Wish
    - Heal bell

    venusaur: standard stall set.

wait Big Root Holder: gains 1.3x HP from draining moves, Aqua Ring, Ingrain, and Leech Seed.

    why is it on scrafty?

at the end i read that this is a ingame team and i face-palmed my self but just go through the suggestions

Infernape is best as a mixed attacker. Protect is a waste of time:
    -Flare Blitz/Fire Blast
    -Close Combat
    -Thunder Punch
    -Mach Punch/Grass Knot/Hidden Power (Ice)
    Nature: Hasty/Naive
    EVs: 168 Atk/88 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Expert Belt
    Ability: Iron Fist

Blastoise is only good in its Mega form. If you want a speedy Water Pokemon, use Greninja:
    -Hydro Pump
    -Ice Beam
    -Extrasensory
    -Dark Pulse/Hidden Power (Grass/Fire)/Grass Knot/Spikes
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Focus Sash
    Ability: Protean

Florges is outclassed by Sylveon and Clefable they pass bigger Wishes than it:

    Sylveon:
    -Wish
    -Protect
    -Hyper Voice
    -Heal Bell/Calm Mind
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP/216 Def/40 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Pixilate

    Clefable:
    -Wish
    -Protect
    -Moonblast
    -Heal Bell/Aromatherapy/Calm Mind
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Unaware/Magic Guard

While Dusclops has massive defenses with Eviolite, its low Speed makes it Taunt bait. Sablye does what it can do better because it has Prankster to give its status moves priority and has access to reliable recovery:
    -Taunt
    -Will-o-Wisp
    -Recover
    -Foul Play/Knock Off
    Nature: Bold/Impish
    EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Prankster

Better Megasaur sets here; your current set takes a bit too much time to set up:
    -Giga Drain
    -Sludge Bomb
    -Leech Seed/Sleep Powder/Earthquake
    -Synthesis
    Nature: Bold/Relaxed
    EVs: 252 HP/240 Def/16 Spe
    Item: Venusaurite

    or
    -Giga Drain
    -Sludge Bomb
    -Hidden Power (Fire)
    -Synthesis/Leech Seed
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 240 HP/252 SAtk/16 Spe
    Item: Venusaurite

Scrafty really suffered from the introduction of Fairies, but the Bulk Up set should look something like this:
    -Bulk Up
    -Drain Punch
    -Crunch/Knock Off
    -Rest
    Nature: Careful
    EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Shed Skin

this set doesnt seem so interesting at first but its a good way to scare and stall your opponent at the same time. but if you want a more offensive aegi
    Aegislash @ Leftovers
    Ability: Stance Change
    EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
    Gentle Nature
    IVs: 0 Spd
    - King's Shield
    - Shadow Ball
    - Flash Cannon
    - Sacred Sword
What's the point of a Gentle nature on that set? A Quiet nature is preferred on Aegislash as its Blade and Shield formes can share the same EVs. SD + King's Shield Aegislash is terrible; it's crippled by burn and easily walled:
    -Shadow Ball
    -Shadow Sneak/Sacred Sword
    -Iron Head/Sacred Sword/Pursuit
    -King's Shield
    Nature: Quiet
    EVs: 244 HP/12 Def/252 SAtk
    Item: Leftovers

    or
    -Substitute
    -Shadow Ball
    -Toxic
    -King's Shield
    Nature: Modest
    EVs: 244 HP/12 Def/252 SAtk
    Item: Leftovers

    or
    -Shadow Ball
    -Shadow Sneak
    -Flash Cannon/Sacred Sword
    -Pursuit/Sacred Sword
    Nature: Hasty/Naive
    EVs: 4 Atk/252 SAtk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb/Spooky Plate/Spell Tag

    or
    -Swords Dance
    -Shadow Sneak
    -Iron Head/Shadow Claw
    -Sacred Sword/Head Smash
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
    Item: Life Orb

Thanks for the help! I thought big root helped drain punch on Scrafty. I should have made this clear, but this isn't just for OU- more mixed tier. The reason I'm not using aegislash and sylveon is that everyone uses them. I'll defenitely use greninja. I thought my team needed a strong special attacker. What item could I use on Scrafty because I'm still use the leftovers on Florges? Ill change the moveset because I forgot about knock off. I saw the the infernape mixed set there was little special attack investment. How does they work?

I don't like to use all of the common pokemon; I use the pokemon I like even of they aren't the best. (Hence Dusclops and not aegislash)

I also like the anti- lead infernape. Can that work on a stall team?

    Anyways, thanks for the help!

There's no such thing as a "mixed tier team". If you use a mix of OU and UU Pokemon (which the team currently is), it's considered OU by default.

Mixed Infernape's 88 Special Attack EVs let it 2HKO Gliscor and Landorus with Fire Blast.

Oh! I had no idea. So if I use nu pokemon with OU pokemon, the team is automatically OU? I didn't realize that. What I mean is non- tiered battling. Could a life orbed greninja with anti-lead infernape work on this team? Should I ditch Scrafty and replace him? I'm keeping Florges with the leftovers. What other item can work on a bulk up set?

I don't like Florges in an OU team, tbh. It's just outclassed. If you want to use something else, use Clefable.

Anti-lead Infernape is terrible now. Team preview makes leads moot.

Then mixed infernape it is. I don't care if a pokemon is outclassed. Then everyone uses the same pokemon. I use the ones I like.

You say you don't wanna run Aegislash or Sylveon because everyone runs them? Greninja is ran much more often than Sylveon, and almost as much as Aegislash.

This isn't a stall team, it isnt even close. This is something I would call balance.

This is a good stall team:

Quagsire, Heatran, Mega Venusaur, Skarmory, Chansey/Blissey and something that you kinda decide yourself. I've seen Suicune, Clefable, Aegislash in this spot.

I also said I like to use pokemon I like... and I like greninja. Could quagsire replace Dusclops... I changed my mind. It's hp stat is utter trash. I just checked Sableye. It's defensive stats aren't good.
