Yeah.me too. Pokemon Ranger used touch screen for everything, and you couldn't play it much because of that.

It was pretty much figured that Game Freak [not Nintendo] would come up with the idea of remaking Gold and Silver, since the remake of RBGY. It was a popular game years back, and because it was so highly wanted since the release of FRLG, the industry knew over time they would later get a decent income of sales.

So, calling for no remake would be a waste as many are glad to have it coming, and if you don't like the idea of remakes, then just don't buy it but instead wait for the next generation. However, these games were in development or thought since the release of Diamond and Pearl, so you should really be thinking, what next game are the thinking of right now as they work on this...

well, the only reason no one would want that... well... honestly- they are running out of ideas- i mean, c'mon, about 60% of the Pokemon in the 4th gen are just... unimaginative- so think about the 5th gen- if the pokemon were like that in the fourth gen, i bet the new pokemon would be worse than fakemon

Aside from the already-stated 'Soul has no fashion sense', am I the only one who really hates this 2.5D slop that's been going on since Diamond and Pearl? I mean, yes, when important events happen that deserve big, exclusive animations then those look pretty good. But otherwise having to walk around in a strange blend of Ruby/Sapphire and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker is not the most enjoyable way to do a remake. :/ And don't even get me started on the new grass. I honestly thought the Great Marsh took over Johto for a couple minutes after seeing the screenshots.

I mean, I'm ecstatic as most of the other people in the HG/SS board about the remakes as I never got very far in the first, but...

To be honest, new generations kinda suck and it takes a year or two to come up with 150 new Pokémon which everyone complains are just clones of other games/Pokémon and then hate them all. Johto in my opinion is the best game and the best Pokémon and all sorts of best stuff.

If you look at it, each generation is pretty much a remake of the last so your logic kinda sucks. D:

Although I do agree a live action Pokémon game like a cool version of Brawl would be sweet but let's not get offtopic here.

The next gen usually comes with a new console to play it on, so we would first need to get a new console which I doubt will happen because the DS is going good(correct me if I'm wrong) Also the original G/S/C are unplayable on the DS/DS lite/DSi, so many people thanks to these remakes we will finally be able to play Johto on our DSes. Many Johto Pokemon are unobtainable(correct me if I'm wrong) and if Gen V were to come out soon we Nintendo would have to fill in that gap mostly with Johto Pokes + add another 100 Pokemon, but some Pokemon would still be unobtainable like Cyndaquil, Totodile and Chicorita, and if they had to add it it would most likely be in a similar fashion to the Emerald one, meaning that these starters will still be rare.
I agree completely with the live action fighting part but some people would be sad because of the change though.

I have seen a lot of stuff about HG/SS and so far I have no complains, except that the female character looks a little bit stupid, my that's none of my worries 'cuz I'm a boy

Yer the DSi is a waste of money if you have a DS lite because there are only few differences which shouldn't result in an extra 200-300 dollars (Aussie currency)

Actually, I have one and it seems worth it, especially when playing 3D games, like Mario Kart and Pokemon, the graphics are easier to see b/c things are rendered larger, but not distorted
