3rd Gen Completed Pokedex?

    I'm currently trying to complete my Hoenn Pokedex in Emerald. I know that when I do complete it I will be able to get either Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile from Prof. Birch. My question though, is do I have to actually catch all of the Pokemon or just see them? I didn't know if the "rules" had changed or not since I last played Pokemon. Thanks!

    I think that you will have to catch them where as in D/P ou only have to see the pokemon for the national dex and stuffs

    Ok, thanks. But where can I catch Treeko and Torchic? (Mudkip was my starter)
     
    You will have to trade it from Another game.That is the only way.
