Hey guys, I'm new to the forum so forgive if this is in the wrong place but it relates to the first gen games so hopefully I'm ok.

Me and my brother have just found our old GBA SP and Gameboy Colour consoles and we have Pokemon Yellow and a Red which we're going to start on for old times sake :)

My question is this: Can we trade & Battle using the GB Colour - GBA SP? I remember something about a universal link cable but does that work to hook up the GBA SP to a GB Colour so we can trade and battle?

Hopefully someone can help and many thanks in advance! :)

    Thanks for the reply.

So you're saying a standard gbc cable can plug into an SP and GBC and it will all work fine for battling and trading?

    Cheers!

Yep, GBC cables work with GBA. But because they're older, they are unpredictable without caution. In my opinion, the easiest method is to use emulators. There are no cartridge or battery risks, and the connectivity is wireless. But I guess nothing brings out nostalgia more than playing on a real system with the real risks. I actually like that feeling. Makes it feel more old-timey.
