    Night 1 Part A

Howdy! The name is Corey, and I'll be keeping track of my escapades throughout the Alola region in this thread.

Honestly, these are the three best choices for starters in quite some time. I started out as a Rowlett person, then saw all the hate Popplio was getting and decided to choose him. Last night I almost decided to pick Rowlett again, but I'm sticking with my guns and picking Popplio here. And oh my god this thing is adorable. Naive nature. With all I have read about the Pokemon this time around being slow, I'll take it.

Pikipek got me two crits against the first Alolan Rattata, so it's staying on the squad for sure.

Going outside to put some furniture away.

    Night 1 Part B

Went through the process of getting my gift Munchlax. Not entirely sure if I will keep it on the team or not, but we'll see.

Make it to Iki Town. Time to explore! Oh wait, this is the same town where I got my starter, so I already explored it. Whoops. Love the set-up for this first rival battle. Everyone watching in the background. Forgot to do any grinding though, so it was a tough match.

Got to the professor's lab. Still looking for a healy house or PC to deposit some stuff. Rotom Dex finally adds some bottom screen stuff, which is nice because it was black until now. Helps to have a map. And thanks to the map, I can see the nearest Pokemon Center. Thank goodness. Deposited everyone except Popplio and Pikipek. Picked up Munchlax and boxed him too.

Doing some grinding in the grass outside the lab to get my crew up to level 10. Found and caught an Alolan Rattata and I'm REALLY tempted to use it. Yeah, I think I'll use it. I'll only get her up to level 8 though. Otherwise I'll be in this grass forever. Okay I lied, I got everyone up to 10. Didn't take as long as I thought it would.

Continuing to go throughout the first island, battling everyone, catching as much stuff as possible. About to take on the first island trial. Random Delibird just chilling in the middle of the dirt road... and it stole my bag. Oh wow, "Grunt A" is getting right up close in this guy's face. Quite the aggressive group for a Pokemon game. Berry house is Delibird central. ShadyPenguin is going to love this place.

People are just dishing out items left and right. Usually multiples too. A Crabrawler just jumped out at me from a pile of berries, and it is immediately going on the team. Catching her also caused Pikipek to evolve into Trumbeak.

Right, time for the first trial, then I'll bring this entry to a close. So far this is a perfect place to level up Crabrawler. All Alolan Rattatas. AND the TM for Brick Break. Taught immediately. And then Team Skull shows up again. Of course the Totem Pokemon raises its defense immediately. Still took it down in one Brick Break, hahaha. First trial completed. Saving game. Fun first night.

    Night 2 Part A

Started this day by boxing my Alolan Rattata. He might be back some day. I put him in my "Rotation" box just in case. Then I headed up to Route 3 to see what I could find there. Was just about to mention being tired of Spearow attacking me, then a Vullaby attacks me. Whoa. And it calls for help, and now two Vullaby are using fury attack. Ugh. And the second one now also called for help. The nightmare is over. I caught the 4th Vullaby that was called in.

Added the Pom Pom Oricorio to my team, at least for the moment. Typing is great, and it has a great cry too. Wait, just checked its learn set, and I can't even take advantage of the electric type. Nevermind.

Guy at the end of Route 3 says he is a red card user. The hell does that mean? Oh wow that's brilliant. Set up stealth rocks turn one, and then red carded my Popplio so Crabrawler took damage. Slowpoke has a red card too. Great. And that sent my untrained Oricorio in. This thing is a monster. I really need an electric or grass type soon. The battle still rages. It somehow healed while I wasn't looking. Now my Popplio is asleep AND confused.

Right. I had to clean Oricorio off after the battle. Changed my mind and decided to keep it on the team, at least for a little while. Adorable little thing. Headed home to heal, and then save and quit. Have a haircut soon. More later!!

That's the cry for allies thing, right? I've heard that can be annoying (haven't experienced that in wild battles yet).

The Oricorio are indeed cute, haha.

    It's great for grinding. Not great if you just want to continue through the route. {XD}

    Night 2 Part B

Back from my haircut, so it's time to go go go. First order of business is to box Petilil and then grind Oricorio up to level 15 to match my Trumbeak, and then I'll decide which flying type I want to keep on the team. I have a pretty good feeling it'll be Oricorio since that'll be one less Pokemon week to electric type moves, but we'll see.

So yeah, Oricorio is on the team and Trumbeak is out. My grinding taught me that my girl Oricorio is a juggernaut, one-shotting everything in her way. With pom poms. Love it. Time to take on the kahuna of Melemele Island! And of course he uses fighting type Pokemon, which is great for me.

Back to back crits from his Mankey to start it off after he used Focus Energy. Make that three in a row. FOUR IN A ROW NOW!!! Five in a row. This is insanity. Six. Seven. Popplio lived on 4 HP to take him down though. Looks like I'm faster than his Makuhita. His sand attack using Makuhita. Two sand attacks, time to swap to Oricorio. She immediately gets greeted by a sand attack as well. One air cutter finishes the job. Final Pokemon is one I know well, Crabrawler. One hit KO with air cutter. Boom. Job done.

Time to ride Tauros around and smash all those rocks I've seen all over the place before moving on to the next island. Sounds like Lillie is going to tag along too in order to protect her Cosmog. While doing so, I ran into a Bonsly beind some breakable rocks, and guess who he called in for backup? A Happiny. Shame I can only catch one. Called for backup again and this time it was just another Bonsly. And then I accidentally knocked both out. So no catch for me. Hahaha.

Popplio just evolved into Brionne and he is even more adorable and huggable than ever before. My goodness. I cannot handle the cuteness. Dude says there are strong Pokemon inside Ten Carat Hill. First Pokemon I run into? A Zubat. What a liar. Cleared that area real quick.

And with that, I'm on to the next island!!

    Night 2 Part C

Made landfall on Akala Island. Can Kukui go home please? Tired of him showing up every other route/area giving a lecture. At the very least man the boat.

So Sina and Dexio are here. Sina immediately challenges me to a battle. And then I receive the Zygarde Cube. Time for this quest I suppose. And here's the place everyone thought would be the water type gym. Lillie wants nothing to do with me, so my next stop is Route 4. What can we find here?

Certainly finding a lot of Zygarde cores so far. Random fight against Hau now. I do like how this town looks. Still looking for team member number 4. I think I'm in an area where I can get Mudbray, but I'm not sure. And speak of the devil, and he shall appear. Or she, in this instance. Caught and added to the team! Got a Pokemon egg as well. I truly don't know what is in this, so I'm really excited to find out.

First double battle of the game just happened. Was beginning to think these weren't in here. This is now also... well I was typing about how this was turning into a race to see what grass type I run into first... and I ran into one. Fomantis. Mine. Team is filling up suddenly. Up to five Pokemon. Hoo. Plus the egg.

Suddenly throw into a battle with this Gladion character. Leads with a Zubat. And suddenly Type: Null makes an appearance! Thanks to Stamina on Mudbray this thing keeps hitting for less and less. Just keeps using tackle, pathetic. And now some Team Skull members show up. No battle though. Gonna heal at the Pokemon Center, save and quit for the day.

Well, after I do another double battle...

    Night 3 Part A

The time has come once again to load up Moon and continue my journey. Have to finish clearing this route of trainers. Guy in the PMC wants to see a Feebas Pokemon entry. Oh boy. Wonder how hard that'll be to get.

So into Brooklet Hill I go. Met Lana. And she added Lapras to my Ride Pager. Nice! Looks like it's Wishiwashi chasing time. My attempt to catch one has turned into another call for help endless battle. Decided to just wipe 'em out. This is a slow build, this chase. Is this a trial? Has to be, right? Yup. Here is the trial gate, and totem area.

Right, well this Totem Wishiwashi is on par with most of my team, which means it'll be time for some grinding after this battle. Down goes my STAB Fomantis. Oh dear... let's see if Crabrawler can get the job done. This also reminds me that I should give him the Fightium Z or whatever it's called. Of course the Totem Pokemon has a berry. What a battle this is! Perhaps I should take out the Wishiwashi helper first, since it keeps using Helping Hand. BOOM! Critical hit on the helper! And now the school form is gone... but he called in an Alomomola?! Totem Wishiwashi is gone... and Oricorio took out Alomomola. Done. Enough rambling.

Lana hands over the Water Z Crystal a fishing rod & 10 Dive Balls, so that's nice. Remember in 5th gen when you couldn't fish until POST-GAME?! She escorted me back to the PMC, where I will heal, buy some items, and actually equip the Z Crystals. Probably grind everyone up to level 22 as well.

    Alright. Everyone is now up to 22. Scared off the Sudowoodo. Oh boy, Team Skull is here again. The same two grunts too. This is hilarious. These two remind me of that comedic relief duo in the Pirates movies. Their eyes got REAL wide when Hapu suggested Mudsdale stepping on them. {XD}

Fomantis really isn't pulling his weight. He might not be long for this team. We'll see what other grass types I run into along the way. Wait, it just learned Leaf Blade. That SHOULD help. Okay, the egg is an Eevee. I'm not upset about that. I'm still going to box it though.

Absolutely love the design of this Mega Mart. Just got sucked into a Battle Royale. And that was easy. Over in one move. I'll never be returning to this feature. Time to take on Kiawe and the fire trial now. Dances were easy to pick out the differences in, and then my Mudbray one-shot both the Totem Pokemon and her helper. That unlocked the fire Z-Crystal and Charizard to fly anywhere. Very nice. I don't have anything to do today, so let's keep this entry rolling!!

Someone from the Aether Foundation told me Stufful live on the route I am on. I must catch one. Don't know if I'll use it since I have Crabrawler, but we'll see. And hey Colress shows up! I did indeed catch a Stufful. She cried for help, nobody came, and I caught her. Poor thing. :( Will keep her on the team for a bit then for moral support. 5 Gs from the person who wanted to see the Pokedex entry.

Time to take on Mallow and her trial. Love the green hair. This Totem battle is the toughest yet. Lurantis called in a Trumbeak that knows Rock Blast, so... Got rid of the Trumbeak and now a Castform appeared. Okay. This I can deal with. However, Lurantis keeps using Synthesis. Jesus. And down goes my best chance against Lurantis; Oricorio. Hmm. Welp. Got wiped. Time to grind!!

Okay, actuall, I'm ending this super long entry here, going to do some soul searching, and decide on a better balanced team to take on Totem Lurantis. Stay tuned!!

    Night 5 Part A

    Night 4 was spent grinding and figuring out a new team to take on Totem Lurantis. That team is as follows, all at level 25;

    Brionne
    Pom Pom Oricorio
    Alolan Diglett
    Leafeon
    Salandit

So, back in I go! Castform is the first ally Pokemon she calls in. I had her down to a sliver of health but she used Synthesis twice and so we're back to square one. This is still incredibly tough. Might not happen this time either. Castform is down. And now a Trumbeak was called in. YES! Lurantis is down!! Now for this Trumbeak. DONE. DUSTED. GONE. MOVING ON.

Finally cleared out all the Route 5 trainers that I couldn't access before. Now to take on this dude who claims to have a Z-Ring. Beat him in two moves, he never even used a single Z-Move. More liars in the Pokemon world. Lillie clearly has a crush on me. So that's Shauna, May and now Lillie. If Kukui can have a mystery wife...

Three entries in this lab mentioning Sinnoh Pokemon. Hmm...

Anyway, time for this Grand Trial. Poor little Alolan Diglett has such a low max HP. Might think of replacing him. Hah, it just evolved. Still not great HP. Another dude claiming to have a Z-Ring. At least this guy used a Z-Move!! Lots of things to do and places to go outside this cave.

Time to take on Team Skull again on my way to Olivia. AMBUSHED!! Plumeria out of nowhere. Pushover battle. Dugtrio also needs to stop tearing up. Breaking my heart. Olivia battle time. Done and dusted. Lots of progress has been made today! She looks so pissed that she lost too.

So I'm on the beach and finding nothing but Staryu. No Sandygast. Holy smokes, $20,000 for throwing Pyukumuku back into the ocean?!

    Onto the Aether Paradise!!

    Night 5 Part B

So this visit to the Aether Paradise started off with a bang. UB01 right in front of us. Oh snap and we're fighting it?! And it rose its defense sharply. Hoo boy. Trip wasn't a total waste though, got Psychic.

Onto the next island!! Let's begin the exploration... place looks beautiful. But first, a battle with Hau. Of course he has a Leafeon too. Copycat. NOW it's time to explore. Nevermind. Being forced to go to this garden.

There are trainers in here though, so that's good. Met Hapu again. TM76... Fly?! Met one of the Trial Captains. Playing coy that she is one though.

But now it's time to visit and clear out Route 11. Overwhelmed with places to go, so... I'm probably going the wrong way. Plus there is a nice lady who heals me whenever I want. I like this one trainer doing push-ups. Ah, and there is indeed a dead-end here. One thing I like about these games is you can't go the wrong way for long.

Went North, and turns out there is a dead-end too. Route 10 it is!! Maybe I won't get rid of Dugtrio. He's really coming in handy against all these poison types I'm running into on this island. Alright, going to heal and then catch the bus to... wherever they said I was going.

This woman says she has lost 8 Stufful on this route. This is going to be an adorable side quest. Another healy woman on this route too. Welp. Time to drub some Team Skull grunts again. Oh my word, the bus is based off of the Alolan Exeggutor. Now we're fighting the guy who runs the box system here.

It's at this point that I realize I might need to do some grinding before I take on any Trial Captains or other challenges. Gonna ride the bus back down the mountain and get everyone up to level 32.

But that'll be for tomorrow. Tonight, I save, quit, and sign off.

For another day of grinding. The story of Pokemon.

    Night 6 Part A

Grinding is done. Everyone is indeed up to level 32. It's so much easier once you have everyone to max affection, because of the boost in EXP you get. Going to catch the bus back up to the top of the mountain, and check out this observatory.

So, here's Sophocles. Let's see what kind of challenge he has for me. And he is straight up saying he's cutting out the middle part and just calling the Totem Pokemon here. Okay then. Wait, sudden audio quiz. And now sudden battle against a Grubbin. Another audio quiz. Now a Charjabug battle. Yet another audio quiz. And another battle. One last audio quiz. And here is the Totem Pokemon; Vikavolt!

Oh my goodness, it rose all stats. Yet my Dugtrio was still faster than it. Gotta swap though. Hopefully Salandit can do some damage here. Hah, and it had an Occa berry. Of course. Spark does so much. Knocked out Salandit. Rest of my team aside from Dugtrio is weak to these two Pokemon in one way or another. Going to throw a revive at Salandit. I don't think it has any way to heal, so I'm going to slowly whittle away with Astonish/Dugtrio. It keeps using Charge. Okay, they knocked out my Dugtrio. Salandit did some damage and then got one-shot. Oricorio comes in knocks out Charjabug (which just got replaced with another), and then lives a Spark. Forgot that I have the Electric/Flying version. Now they both team up with Spark and knock Oricorio out. Going to see what Leafeon can do, and then if/when he gets knocked out, I'll send Brionne out and revive Dugtrio. Leafeon knocks out Vikavolt!! Revived Salandit, brought her in, Flame Burst the Charjabug, challenge done.

So I got a Steelium Z too. They just dish these puppies out on this island. And, hah, if you didn't get it before, here is the mask that belongs to Kukui. Going to walk down the bus path first to clear out anyone/anything that might be lurking there before I take the bus back down. Salandit evolved during this process. Salazzle looks great. Oh hey, there's a bus stop halfway down the mountain. That's nice.

So went back to the garden. And this Guzma character is getting real close to Kukui. Kukui just staring him down, hahaha. Is he seriously using a Pokemon that runs away after hitting less than 50% health? Destroyed by Oricorio. Kukui gave me the Primarium Z. Now it's time to go through Route 11. Ghost type trial is next, according to this lady. Hapu makes another appearance, and registered Mudsdale in my Ride Pager.

Brionne evolved. So happy. My boy. All grown up. Ready to destroy lives. Let's see what trouble we can get into at the power plant. And the answer is absolutely nothing. So on Route 13 Gladion is being a prick, as usual. Apparently this Stufful has been left behind? :( This game is too much for me. Oh man, am I coming up to the area where I can get my 6th Pokemon; Mimikyu? :O

This dude has a Feebas. Screw this dude. And a Gyarados, which is still tough, because I have no electric moves. And... guess I can't go into the abandonded place yet. Shame. So instead it's on to the Aether House. And... guess I AM going to the abandonded place, haha.

So, time for this trial. Have to take pictures of everything, including the Totem Pokemon. Hoo boy. A Ghastly was messing with the conveyor belt. A Haunter is messing with a shopping cart. And now a Gengar is floating some dolls. Shame we can't catch Pokemon during trials, because I would 100% catch this Gengar. Boy, this back room is sad. All these Pikachu pictures. I really need to catch a Mimikyu once this trial is done. Did this Totem Pokemon... speak?!

So, Totem Mimikyu it is. Used Toxic on it. So this battle is now timed. And when I wasn't looking the toxic went away? Okay, now I had Oricorio confuse both Pokemon. Knocked out the Haunter. And so Mimikyu calls in a Gengar. This got tougher, hahaha. Knocked the Totem out. Gengar gone. Trial complete.

This entry is really long, so I'll end it here and start a fresh one.

    Night 6 Part B

Alright. Headed back to the PMC to heal, and then I'm heading back to the abandoned supermarket to catch a Mimikyu. Oh, there are Klefki here too. Second Pokemon I run into is a Mimikyu. Quick Ball fails, so I'll actually have to put some work in for once! Put it to sleep, threw a Dusk Ball, got it! Instantly added to the party. And time to move on with a full and final team.

I believe there are some trainers on Route 15 I need to clear out for another reward or battle or something. Turns out I actually can't do that because there are rocks in the water blocking the way. I can only assume I'll need some other ride Pokemon to take care of those. So, I guess I'll take on these Team Skull members outside the Aether House.

Plumeria claims she won't be holding anything back. Leads with a Golbat. Yeah, that's a real show of force there! A Salazzle is more high speed though. Took care of her in relatively short order. Looks like Team Skull stole some Pokemon, and we need to go to Po Town and take them back. Or I need to. Otherwise there is no deal or something. I suppose I should grind Mimikyu up to match everyone else before I go though.

And with that, I'm going to save and quit for the evening, while I decide on so more important issues. More on that later though!
