4th Gen Corrupted Save File Side-Effects?

I accidentally corrupted my Save File in Platinum. I know that it keeps a back-up save, but are there any side-effects? I'm really quite worried to see all of that gameplay go to waste.

the only side effect is loosing all the gameplay you did after the backup.
