Could Ritchie make a return to the show?

Just wanted to say hi to everyone here at PokeCommunity. This is my first post.

Ritchie has been one of my favorite characters on Pokemon. He's not really a main character, but more of a recurring side character. He first appeared in the Kanto region, won against Ash in the Indigo League, then made another appearance in the Johto region. Since then, his most recent appearances in the anime that I know of are episodes in Pokemon Chronicles.

The Diamond and Pearl series has brought back a lot of old characters that have rarely been seen since Ash went to the Hoenn region. These include Gary and Butch and Cassidy. They also brought back May for the Wallace Cup, and of course, Prof. Oak continues to make occasional appearances.

My question is, is it possible that Ritchie might return to the show at some point? I doubt he'll be back in the Sinnoh region series, since it's almost over. But, I'd really like to see him on the anime again, even for just a few episodes. Do you think that's possible?

Highly unlikely. If he did though, he would need a costume change. And bad

Well, Ritchie did make an appearance in one of the Hoso episodes I believe but those were made back in 2002 I believe. After that, it seems that the writers forgot about him since his original purpose seemed only to be the "Gary Stu-Ash" and defeat him in the Indigo League. Considering it's been all of these years and the writers haven't brought back any other characters from the Hoso other than Butch and Cassidy, not counting other main characters, and they appeared two years, they'll probably not have Ritchie make another appearance any time soon.

I don't think he will ever appear again.
and like GFA said He will need a Costume change.
