Counting Electric Sheep Formula 14 (For the Love of Anime Freestyle Mix)

Set number 14, welcome to it. So what happens during times when internet is unavailable but you still want to come up with something? You go into freestyle mode and dive into what you've got...and hope for the best :) this one features songs from some of my favourite anime/manga series and I hope to release these freestyle sets every now and again between the regular planned and themed sets. Initially, Set 14 was going to be a romance-themed number which would've come out in time for Valentine's Day. But no internet. So I've pushed that themed set to CES #16, because #15 is already "booked". Enjoy and take care!

Counting Electric Sheep Adventure 15 (In Another World with My Anime Mix)

Whether you're only anime fan or only a manga fan or if you are a fan of both, there is a journey you go on whenever you watch or read. Could be a new anime/manga or an older one. There are many worlds, stories, genres, characters, emotions, experiences, adventures and so on. That's what inspired this set. It is also where we say goodbye (for now) to the Stardust Crusaders from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 3 and to give them an epic send off we need the Jo Stars. Hiroaki "Tommy" Tominaga (who performed the opening theme for Part 1), Coda (performed the opening theme for Part 2) and Jin Hashimoto (performed the first opening theme for Part 3) teamed up to perform the second and final opening theme. If there are any fans of Part 4 (Diamond is Unbreakable), then you and I will meet for CES #20 to hear the first sounds of that chapter in the Jojo series.

How's it going? Welcome to CES #16! It's been a few months since the last post and it almost feels like the world was in a different place back then as compared to what the state of things is right now. Crazy. From wearing stupid masks to being forced to stay home because of stupid lockdowns. Will it ever end? Anyway, let's talk about this set and why there are 2 versions. Version Red has songs from older anime series while Version White has songs from more modern titles. In case anyone asks you, tell them that no, there won't be a 3rd version which has slightly better graphics, improvements and features songs that don't appear in either Red or White versions ;) enjoy and please look forward to CES #17! (whenever that'll come out)

Set #17 celebrates heroes. Not all of them wear tights and capes but they are part of the many reasons you and I are such big fans of anime and manga. I'll advise you to hold onto this one for later :) hint hint. Enjoy and take care, the road to CES #18 begins now!

Counting Electric Sheep Mobile Zetto 18 (Getter Better Mecha Anime Opera)

Recorded on Sunday 16 August 2020. Here we are, set #18 and it's about giant frigging robots. What are they for? Who made them? Why are they so big?? Good questions and I can't guarantee they'll be answered by this set but hey, I can guarantee that it's another great one for the record books. I went old school, going all the way back to the 1970s and ending up in the 1990s. Those of you who are around the same age as me may recognise some of the themes featured, even if you aren't a mecha anime fan. But the real gems are the themes you may not have heard before and for me that's what I liked the most while preparing this. Going back to a time where themes are actually about the anime (or at least referenced it in some way) and you look at the common case nowadays where singles are chosen to become themes for anime. I've grown to appreciate older anime themes after working on CES #16 and so I hope the younger fans among you will give them a chance, even if they are from way before your time :)

Counting Electric Sheep Saving 19 (Don't Be An Anime Hero Mix)

Recorded on Wednesday 8 July 2020, released today Monday 26 October 2020. Hello there, how have you been? Welcome to the last set in a mini series of sets which were under specific themes. Remember that sports-powered CES #11? Yes, we started there and here we are to put the finishing touch on what has been a fun run. I had a blast and my hope is you (and perhaps the numerous bots who've graced this thread) enjoyed the ride. CES #19 is a sequel to CES #17, in case you can't get enough of anime heroes :) thank you if you've patiently waited for this one. I decided to, well, save it until now because I wanted to make use of the time to find other platforms. During that time away I settled in the Internet Archive and recently I found out about Brand New Tube. DTube was okay for a while but the site has been changing over and over, making uploading there more of a chore than anything else. I hope BNT won't be a headache down the road.

Counting Electric Sheep Sessions 20 (Promises of a Diamond AnimeLand Mix)

Recorded on Thursday 9 July 2020 and released on Wednesday 4 November 2020. New series, new cover art too :) welcome to set #20, which also happens to be the final CES release for the year. What do you think of the new cover? If you recognise that character, well done. Would you believe that show turned 20 years old this year? TWENTY. But I'm willing to bet that it still holds up even now, especially the humour. Sessions is the name of the new series which I'll be getting into, my aim is to explore more OSTs. Anime OSTs, video game OSTs. I just think opening themes and ending themes can be a world of their own while OSTs are another world underneath. I've seen the thread where people are rating OSTs, perhaps I'll look into that for...inspiration :) thank you to everyone who has stuck with this series during this sorry year, I really hope 2021 will be much better. Counting Electric Sheep Sessions II (CES #21 Anime Pages from a Death Note)

Hmm, a tad bit too late to say Happy 2021 so let me go with Hello again :) Welcome to the 21st set of this fine series, here's hoping you've been doing well so far and things are still relatively rosy in your corner of the world. I popped into the Rate the OST Above You thread several months ago, hoping to hear from people there who had any recommendations and suggestions of anime OSTs which I could check out for this series. It would've meant variety in terms of genre and I think I would've had fun preparing each set based around a particular OST, even for anime I've never heard of but thanks to someone's suggestion maybe I'd become a new fan of such anime if they're that good. But no luck, I didn't hear back from anyone. So I'll be going with my own OST selections and, well, hope for the best :) for CES 21 I dove into the trio of soundtracks that were composed by Hideki Taniuchi and Yoshihisa Hirano for the Death Note anime way back in 2006 and 2007. I still consider Death Note as one of the "starter pack" anime to watch if you're new to the multiple worlds of anime, because it was that good back then and probably as good now. Hello there :) welcome to Set #22! It's been a minute for sure but for those of you who are into Pokémon rom hacks then you might be aware that I had been occupied with a little title called Pokémon Unbound since April. I completed the walkthrough a few weeks ago so if you are in need of one give that guide a go (https://archive.org/details/pokemon-rom-hack-walkthroughs). CES #22 features songs from the first soundtrack that was composed for the Cowboy Bebop anime in 1998 by Yoko Kanno and Seatbelts, a band which she put together for the series. If this legendary anime is famous for one thing it is that incredible jazzy soundtrack, so if you were a fan of Cowboy Bebop then you are in for a treat. But before you check #22 out, I recommend you prep yourself by diving back into the archives for CES #5 a.k.a Counting Electric Sheep Gold. That is where we first sampled sounds from Cowboy Bebop, so that should get you in the mood :) enjoy.

Hi there. Unfortunately this will be my last post on this thread, after finding out that the threads for my other series have been shut down. I figured I might as well end things now because the same could happen here before I can say anything to you one more time. There's a Discord server for CES now, the invite link is in the previous post, so I will encourage you again if you have enjoyed this series and would like to continue keeping up with it then please join the Discord. Feel free to share the invite with anyone else who would be interested in CES. And for those of you who have been checking out my other series, they have their own Discord servers too, if you want the invites for those you can message me. My hope for this thread when I started was that it would encourage people to talk about the theme songs featured in each set and the anime series those songs were made for. Which of those anime have people watched? Have the theme songs given them any motivation to watch those anime that they haven't seen before and so on. But I guess maybe my approach was wrong or something, I don't know. Anyway, thanks again to everyone who liked the series and kept up with it until now. The big Thank You is for Admin Sheep, who not only inspired me to start the series but there wouldn't be a cool name for the series without her haha.
