    No not, an actual art thread, but I'd like to make a comment that concerns art.

    I saw a few of my pics popping up here as avatars. Which makes sense because I started an avatar thread a while back. But I also asked to give me credit. This goes for everyone's art; respect artists, and if you want to use their pictures, ASK permission if it's ok first. And if they did a request for you, give credit in your signature or otherwise.

    Thanks for your time... I've had enough pictures stolen in the past.

    I totally agree it is so disrespectful...I'll stop there before my n00biness gets in the way

    i totally agree with Professor Ivy!

    *nods* A good point. I find that most people who request things from me are pretty good about credit. The other thing you can do is put a very small, transparent watermark in the corner of your pic (mine is "JA'04", Redensek font, white with black border, approx 30% opacity).

    You guys, (Exceptions of JA) Should try to say more, instead of spamming.

    I'm sorry Iveechan, I totally agree with you though. People just think they can get away with anything. But they can't even when they have the name of the original artists on it, they stll don't accredit the person who made them the thing. I think giving credit not only shows that you made it, but its a sign of gratitude from the person displaying it. Am I right?

    Me, if I make some sprites I don't care if they put my name or not because I didn't make the sprites. Anyone can paste sprites into an image or animation. I put my name on all pictures I draw so if they did use them it would have who made it on it. I think it is nice if they put who made it if it was a sprite.

    I know what you mean Iveechan, whenever I use one of Dragonfree's sprites as my avatar, I always make sure that it is ok with her if I can use them. If people want me to give them credit in my sig, or if they want me to just plainly ask permission, then I do. Unfortunately there is not much you can do alone about thieves (and yes, stealing people's sprites or art for your own uses, even if it is in your sig is considered stealing). Except report them to the internet authorities. =\

    Internet authorities? o_O Somehow, I don't really think that would affect it a lot XD. Well, the best thing to do is, if you see someone using your art/sprites and you didn't say they could, just contact them and say 1. Please credit to me. 2. Please ask before using my stuff. That way, if they flame you or something, you can show that you did ask nicely, and you can warn other people against them, or PM an admin and ask them to edit the person's sig.

    I waited to post because I finally got something to say ^_^

    First off I hope you don't mine changing the title but a sticky thread called >:( is kinda vague lol

    Giving permission not only is a sign of respect but If you need the artist to draw something else then that's a good way to show them that you respect there art work. It also shows the kind of person you are. I get so mad when people use art by Teppo in there sigs because it says they cant use it and they don't even give credit.

    Oh yes, its rather annoying... >__<;; Its not their art to begin with, so they should be thanking that certain person who did it to them. Its respectful and the right thang to do! -.^

    *dies*

    Isn't that what everybody does? (btw, I agree like everyone else does) They say something like "Thanks you Forest Grovyle for the banner!"(cannot forget her) ... Maybe I joined a bit late or I didnt see so. Private messenging is a great idea... so is instant messaging, even better. But yeah whatever you do to someones art.. just make sure to contact them first ^_^;
