Cross Gen Online Battling and Trading Question

    I have Pokemon Sun, and my Brother has Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. We live in 2 different states. Can we battle/trade online with each other even though we have different games?
    They are both 3DS games and wasn't sure if we could or how to do it.
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
     
    Sorry don't think you can, separate generation games aren't compatible with each other even if they are on the same console
     
    You can only battle and trade between games of the same generation (with the exception of gens I and II which can trade with each other but not battle). Sun can only trade and battle with Moon, Ultra Sun, and Ultra Moon and Alpha Sapphire can only battle with X, Y, and Omega Ruby.
