5th Gen Cut Scenes!

It has been confirmed on several websites, including Serebii.

As for the cutscenes, they look pretty epic. Are these screenshots taken on the DS or the 3DS? I'd assume that 3DS's graphics for this game would be better?
 
could you please provide a link that specifically says there will be 3d features on ds games if used on 3ds?

Common confusion. No, Black and White are simply DS games, and as such will get no boost from being played on a 3DS.

Also people need to understand that the DS and 3DS are two DIFFERENT systems. Did the DS enhance the GBA games when you played them on it...no.

i assumed that it had to do with the camera, because the enhancements are for the DSi as well

Technically they're not WMVs haha, but I know what you mean. But I'm really hoping they're not limited to the trailer/opening sequence. I would absolutely love to see them spread throughout the story.

And yeah, games won't look immediately better if played on the 3DS. It's powerful, but it's not magic. Expect DS games to look like DS games when played on the 3DS, except maybe with added 3D effects if that is indeed actually confirmed (I find it hard to believe since they weren't made to be 3D). To put things into perspective:

DS games are similar to N64 games, but without the texture smoothing (more PS1-like in terms of textures)
3DS games are similar to Wii and beyond depending on the engine and shaders used (note difference in graphics between Kid Icarus and Resident Evil)

I don't think Nintendo naming the 3DS the "3DS" was a good idea haha; it's caused utter confusion ever since it was first announced.
 
3D graphics ARE an enhancement, maybe you should learn more bout technology.

DSi has graphical enhancements,duh.

but 3DS will have [insert details here] enhancements on the 3DS
as you can obviously tell they havent said exactly what the 3DS enhancements are,but like sumone already said, its been confirmed, plus it was in pokemon sunday i think
 
Jesus christ.

First is a DSi & 3DS exclusive feature; the Live Caster. This feature, after obtained in the game, will allow you to have video chats with your friends. This is limited to 4-player over local wireless and 2 player over Wi-Fi. Only the DSi can utilise this feature so if you don't have a DSi or a 3DS in the future, you cannot use this feature.

In a manner similar to what was described as a 3DS feature, there is also a Pass By mode which, utilising the C Gear, has you connect with other players when you walk by them. This will aid them and you in various means, the extent of which is not yet known

What this means is that BW will get the same enhancements it would get when played on a DSi on the 3DS. There has yet to be any news that the games will have features found on the 3DS but not the DSi. =/

...No. There was said, specifically, though I've yet to find it as it in some website's archives, that Black and White will include extra features for the DSi and 3DS that will not be there for the normal DS. So please don't say I'm confused :|

actually they usually do for their bigger franchises, pokemon wasnt THAT big,til 3rd gen.

What do you mean pokemon wasnt THAT big til 3rd gen. Pokemon has been big since the first generation.
And like i said earlier. The Ds didn't magically make gba games any better just because they were in the ds itself. Its the game and the system the game was made for which in this case is DS, DS lite, and DSi.
 
I wasn't saying 3D effects weren't an enhancement, I was just making it clear that the game won't magically look better when played on the 3DS.

Black and White will still look and play on the 3DS like it does on the DS and DSi. Playing it on the 3DS will grant you more features than the DS since it'll be able to use the DSi's features such as Live Caster, and it may possibly utilise 3D effects, but it's not suddenly going to be a completely different game.

Maybe GameFreak have included 3D support for those that play on the 3DS, but older DS games most likely won't play in 3D since they weren't created for it. And even if BW does have 3D support, I can't really see it adding much to the game; if anything I think it'll just make sprites stand out from the environment which will look a bit odd.

I should have said graphical boost. Also, it was intended to be a general statement. Some Anvils Must Be Dropped, after all.

Also, Pass By is nothing new for DS games. TWEWY, anyone?
 
I don't agree about the voice actors, only because I like reading everything in my own puny voice XD. It's just about having the "right" voice, which is impossible XD.

I like the cutscenes, though I think they would only take place at key plot points. Probably just the climax... XD. It would be nice to see a little more of them, as they do provide a different perspective of the game.

Exactly my thoughts on that one.
 
I'd actually like a few high-quality cut scenes. A lot of good consule games have them, and it would be exciting for pokemon to. I really liked the ones in the trailer! I hope they have a lot more good ones... and it's shaping up to have a good, full plot. :D
