4th Gen D/P vs Platinum???

    Hello, guys. I got platinum, but I was VERY disappointed with it. I really hate the new outfit. The storyline is boring. Plus Togepi instead of Happiny. But the only good thing is you can get Dialga and Palkia and an eevee early. That's it. And so many people are trading all they're strong pokemon to platinum. I don't really like that. Most people will disagree with this, but I thonl Platinum sucks compared to d/p. What do you think? Reply to answer!
     
    The ONLY qualms I have about the game is the localization changes to these names:

    Places:
    -Torn World -> Distortion World

    People:
    -Handsome -> Looker
    -Pluto -> Charon

    Formes:
    Giratina
    -Another Forme -> Altered Forme
    Rotom
    -Cut Frome -> Mow Forme
    -Spin Forme -> Fan Forme

    Items:
    Platinum Orb -> Griseous Orb

    I only refer to all of these by their original Names U.U

    As for the game itself, I believe it is superior to D/P in ALL ways.

    You should really stop making so many posts flaming Platinum :/ You're going to make alot of enemies doing that.

    Exactly how far have you gotten in Platinum? Unless you've finished the game, I don't think you have the right to review and criticize it, especially in such a ridiculous manner.

    So, you hate the new outfit? Oh, that's a logical reason to hate a game.
    You get a Togepi egg instead of a Happiny egg, big deal.
    You claim the plot is boring, when it's clearly the same as Diamond and Pearl with a few changes here and there.

    I really don't understand how you can say D/P is better than Platinum, when Platinum has way more features than the original. In my opinion, along with Dunsparce's, Platinum is clearly superior.

    The things you can do after you beat the Elite Four are great. The Battle Frontier is awesome, and the Resort, Fight, and Survival areas have been revamped for the best.

    There are so many features in Platinum that aren't in Diamond and Pearl, so Platinum is clearly better.

    ^ I agree. I love Platinum due to Battle Frontier, I also love the fact I can record battles and such and show them via Wi-Fi. I usually get bored of D/P other than Battle Tower, but there are more things to keep me busy in Platinum than D/P.
     
    Platinum rocks man. You got some kind of death wish or something? I mean the speed increased greatly when it comes to the battles and the surf speed. The difficulty that was raised wasn't something that big but you can tell they want you to grind at it for hours levelling up your Pokemon. Before in diamond i went to orebourgh all confident with a level 10 piplup and budew but now no no no! I had a fully evolved team at level 17 all of them consisting of Staravia Luxio and Prinplup. Also the graphics are excellent and very well higher up then DP. I actually see this in a few months time becoming the most popluar if not the best Pokemon game to date.
     
    I have recently beaten Platinum and I must say I really enjoyed playing it, many new features and everything. I didn't enjoy playing D/P at all, I just wanted to get done with it, didn't care about it. But on Platinum it keeps you busy after you beat the E4.
     
    What, when there's less lag overall in Platinum and surfing is noticeably faster? And you don't automatically dismount from your bike whenever you enter a hallway to a route either.
     
    I have to agree with everyone else as well, especially Dunsparce and Peanutz's posts. Those two make the most easiest, simplest, and most logical explanations as to why you hate Platinum. The reasons you have posted, are very inferior as to those who have actually probably done more than you in the game. If they have, and we see their reasons as to why they hated it, and theirs make a lot more sense then yours, then your screwed.

    I'm not trying to flame you, and Dunsparce, he isn't flaming Platinum. He's giving his opinion, and though I will go with anyone's opinion on what they think of something, the reasons you have are the worst to support your opinion.

    By the way, I also agree with Dunsparce with the name changes. They should've kept Torn World, Handsome, and Pluto.

    I strongly agree with what you've said here, especially how if you state your opinion, have some logical reasons to support it.

    I think this thread should be closed, though. This is going to lead to a flame war and hurt feelings for some if it continues. :(
     
    Ummm well ya people have differnt opiun's about the game Well i sya Platinum was great why?

    - I like thew new offits
    - you can get WAY MORE pokemon in this game then D/P
    - i like the new form's of pokemon
    - the new wi-fi plaza
    - Dialga and Palkia are easier to catch
    - Torn World is fun to explore
    - A lot more legendary's are in here
    - The new sprites

    and a lot more~
     
    What do I think? Shame you can't see Platinum in our eyes, but hey, it's your opinion. There are several aspects in Platinum that I find beyond enjoyable. The Battle Frontier has brought me both joy and frustrations all the while. Personally, I love Platinum. And I think the team got it right this time.
     
    This is the first 3rd I've gotten since crystal and I think its great best game to date.
    The only name changes i dont really care for are handsome's and pluto's.
     
    I have no quarrel with this game what so ever.
    You're obviously rebelling just for the hell of standing out
    and it's not working. No one will agree with you.
    Platinum is already proven that it is superior to
    Diamond and Pearl in every single way. The story
    line was deepened and gave more back story to Cyrus.
    Who cares about some crappy Happiny, just breed a
    chansey in the wild for Christ's sake. The outfits were made
    to reflect the not-so-drastic temperature change. Why the hell
    would they be wearing stuff like the youngster's in the game
    while they're bound to explore Snowpoint city later on in the game.
    It just makes more sense that they've dressed warmer.

    All in all, your opinion will never win. It's already sealed.
    Platinum IS better than Diamond Pearl. And by the way,
    try to make it past getting your Running Shoes before
    throwing stones. It seems like you've done no research
    on your own claims.

    I think Platinum, is by far, way better than Diamond and Pearl, even though I still like to play Diamond. The sprites are WAY better for most of the Pokemon, the outfits are cool, the gameplay is faster, plus the ability to get Eevee earlier and get the Togepi egg? It all adds up to a great game, in my book.
     
    Platinum is awesome! i got it when it came out and i loved it when i touched it! my favorite part is the new pokedex, in diamond i had a hard time putting a team together. now its easy. I also like Rotoms forms... i gots the key :P
     
    Lol i also got Platinum when it came out 8D Ya there are alot more pokemon i nthe shinnoh pokedex also the guide book is useful to find all the pokemon ( well most of them XD)
     
    Um, there is nothing you can do in D/P that you cant do in Platinum but not vice versa:/ Unless you preferred the original gyms, only catching Dialga or Palkia, no alternate forms, no wifi terminal, no Battle Frontier, not battlegrounds, no villa, and no fun.
     
    i have to agree with the naming thing, i mean Torn world is WAAAAAAAY better then Distortion world, but i read that the reason they changed Pluto to Charon was because "To avoid lawsuits from Disney"
     
    I love Platinum, so many new features. Definetly the best remake!
    I don't see why people bag on it so much...
     
    idk why ethier Just becuase they do't like hte new pokemon they talk crap about it :l
