He already mentioned Word though... XD;

I use MS Word just for school stuff. For virtually everything else I write, I just use Notepad because it's so easy to open and far more accessible.
 
Ooh. :\ Haha, I used to use Wordpad all the time. I don't know why I stopped and switched to Notepad. I guess it loads a fraction of a second faster or something. XD;

I don't think I even have Word installed on my computer yet. I should get around to that before I head off to university. :|

I Agree. Notepad is way better than Wordpad, even though you don't have any text options. But you should try Microsoft Word, it's a really good program. <~
 
I use Word for stories and school. I use Notepad for random things and HTML, if I feel like coding something.

My sister has Open Office on her computer, it works just like Word. It even uses .doc files, which was good for me, since I brought my stories on my flash drive. It's pretty amazing, and from what I understand, it's free. The only thing I hate is that I don't know if I can change the view. I type my stories so it's full screen, not the page view. I also had to shrink my font down so it wasn't huge. I can't stand large print. Maybe that's why I write so small. o_o

I don't like Microsoft Word because it takes so long to open. :p I mean, it's probably pretty fast on my new laptop but...it's still pretty bulky and too much for what I need when I'm just writing up a long-ish post or writing livejournal entries. XD

Also, Sammiiiiiiiiiii. Is you internet back yet? :B
 
I use word for everything but that my change when I get into college cause I never relized how much $$$ it was.
 
Yeah, it's really expensive. However, your school will probably be able to get you student discounts. I'm pretty sure if I buy the Office Suite through my university, it's a few hundred dollars less or something. It's a big discount, anyway. :x

Though I doubt that I will, because I like my current... ah, not-so-legal copy. <<;
 
Well we just got a mac and I'm loving it and word is even more expencive for mac. Hopefully I can get a discount cause if not I'll have to switch back to windows.:(

Nah, they're about pyschics. Doing stuff. XD I'm a bad writer, but I do it for the hell of it. It's a nice hobby.

It's never taken long, even on my crappy computers. o_O Or maybe I'm just patient. If you want something long, try Photoshop start-up times. D< Or maybe that's my version. I only have 7. XD;;

You know what's good for writing Livejournal posts, and maybe even other stuff? Livejournal clients. Mine has a spellcheck built in (the installation was tricky since the client was built on XP instead of Vista), it's super fast to log in, and mine's always on. I used it for spellcheck on serious posts before Firefox built one in. I also type posts there sometimes. Of course, if you want to save what you do, Notepad might be better, since saving's kinda screwy on my client at least.

It is here, but I'm not in my dorm, so until then, I'll still be kinda inactive. I should be on longer though. And hopefully daily. It depends.

Then find another free word processor. Like I said before, Open Office is really good.

EDIT: Or you could be like Erica (and myself D: ) and find, erm, other ways of getting Word.
 
I don't download. I have other ways. Friends in real life. Catch my drift? ;D

I don't like to download, to be honest, otherwise I'd probably watch a ton of anime.

EDIT: I also hate trial versions. Either I want it all or I don't want it at all. And the whole "trial's up! Cough up the money" thing is annoying. >_>
