Darkrai Deck. Need Advice

    Darkrai X Deck Critique

    Alright Here's a setup I'm thinking:


    3-2 Darkrai lvl x
    3 Darkrai G
    2-2 Hypno(HGSS)
    2-2 Musharna(BW)
    1 Regigigas EX

    1 Double colorless Energy
    4 Psychic Energy
    10 Dark Energy

    4 Bench Shield
    2 Moonlight stadium
    4 PONT
    3 Cilan
    4 Pokemon Communication
    3 Energy Retrieval
    2 Cheren
    2 Switch
    4 Energy Removal



    So Basically, get hypno on the bench for his sleep flip I can use every turn just in case. Then get Darkrai G's out on the bench to keep damaging the pokemon that's asleep. Musharna and Darkrai X are for main damage. Plus Darkrai's double sleep flip with k.o. chance. And Regigigas in case things arnt going so hot.

    I have the bench shields for Hypno mostly, but for darkrai G also.

    I was thinking maybe I should cut something and put Gust of wind in there to help me out?


    Any advice to make this faster, stronger, or more effective would be nice.
    Note that I need this deck to survive against modern unlimited sets, mostly next destinies mixes.

    You may wanna look at the Sableye from Diamond & Pearl: Stormfront as a starter (as in, a card that you want as your lead at the beginning of the game), since it has a Poke-Body that makes you go first no matter what, and an attack that would be able to allow you to effectively use two Supporter cards on your first turn to get you a speedy setup.
     
    Well, I could take out the Darkrai G and Moonlight stadium and put in 1 more Musharna run, and add the sableyes, as well as change up my energy and trainers a little::

    2-2 Hypno(HGSS)
    3-3 Musharna(BW)

    4 Sableye(SF)

    6 Psychic Energy
    4 Special Dark Energy
    4 Basic Dark Energy

    4 Energy Removal


    Only things I see that could be an issue for me is that if I don't get my Darkrai lvl X set up and out, then I could take some heavy heat.

    Id hope to get sableye out first, set up hypno and Darkrai lvl X, and maybe if I havent had enough time yet throw my Musharna up until Darkrai X is ready.

    From there it's a lot easier to keep people asleep and being damaged.

    So, it's the most important that darkrai X gets out as early as I can get him. And also stays alive after that. Any tips?

    So have all the dark energy be special? THat cancels out my ability to grab them from the discard or my deck though. :p
     
    No. Only 4 of them, since you can only have 4 of the Special Darkness Energy (same rule applies to the Special Dark as it does to other special energy cards like Prism Energy). Though you do have a point that swapping them in so you have 4 Special Dark and 6 Basic Dark would stuff up recovery issues some, with the way Energy Retrieval is worded.
     
    So the way it's setup now is good you think?

    Or should I switch 1 musharna run for another hypno?
     
    Or what about Absol G? For 3 energy you put the energy back in your hand and the defending pokemon gets K.O.'d at the end of your opponent's turn...that's pretty sick.

    Also, that combined with moonlight stadium for quick moves, put a pokemon to sleep, bring out absol and finish the job.
    Plus what do you think about master ball? Though I guess Pokemon communication is good too anyway.

    I think Pokemon Communcation is better.

    If your goal is inducing sleep to get easier KOs, more Hypno is probably better, though overall a 4-4 Darkrai Lv. X and 4 Premier Ball would be the most effective, I think. And The Majestic Dawn Darkrai would be a good companion for it (and, having looked at that, Musharna would be a good leading attacker with all those Darkrai Lv. X being there to finish the job).

    If you're running Darkrai Lv. X, you definitely want Premier Ball.
     
    Hah that premier ball does look like a great help actually. So wait you didnt like the absol idea? Or you did, but decided more hypno? And yeah Musharna is a decent start off.

    THough now I just need some space for the premier ball and I think I'll be good to go!
     
    Just don't know which is better. 2-2 or 3-1. Also, the effect of absol's attack is cancelled if they switch it? Lame.

    But, it most likely going to be sleeping, as per the rest of my deck. So wouldn't that help? It can't retreat if it's asleep. What about this:

    Well after some battles, I can say that it works pretty well. Regigas isn't really useable right now though except for being a massive shield until I get what I need set up. But thats at the cost of 2 prize cards. Which generally didn't hurt me too much though.

    I decided on a 3-1 Darkrai X run though, for more chances at darkrai, since premier ball can pull X from anywhere, Id rather have 3 regular darkrai than 2. With hypno on the bench, and musharna and absol in the wings, it's a pretty fun play style that I haven't lost with yet.
