How do I level up Pokemon that I have in the Day Care?

If you leave Pokemon in the DayCare for a certain amount of time, don't they level up themselves?

It's been a while since I've played my Pearl game, but I'm sure that's the basic principle of the Day Care Centre.

Nope, they aren't going to be leveled up when the game is turned off. Otherwise, you could reach a high level very quickly.

IIRC each step you make in the game gives them EXP in the day care.

Yeah, what he said.
For example:If you take 1 step then your poke gains 1 EXP.So its every step you take your poke gets 1EXP.
And no they don't level up when its turned off.

if your trying to raise a pokemon to a very high level just through day care, i t will take too long cause it will take a lot of steps

A good idea is to go up and down through the Cycling Road since all u need to do is press up and release for a second, then repeat...

yea but after level 30.. I think its just way better to put an EXP share on the poke (and even before)....then sweep the elite 4... in terms of EVs on a pokemon... you can EV train immediately.... so long as you have someone else with max'd IVs.

Plus, in daycare, the stupid people will delete the moves your pokemon has for the moves it learns:/

Exactly. It just works when you want a Lv1 to be Lv10 or something. You need like 50 steps. =/

Well It's easy to level in the Daycare as everyone said but to level without getting a move removed is easy let me give an Example let's say this is the Move Set of your Poke a Rhyhorn-

Stone Edge-Want to Save This Move
Earthquake-Want To Save this Move
Fury Attack
Rock Slide

Well the moves get deleted from Top to Bottom well just move Stone Edge and Earthquake to the bottom and your lest desired moves to the top for them to get deleted for Instace

Fury Attack
Rock Slide
Stone Edge
Earthquake

The next move to get replaced will be Fury Attack and so on just keep doing this and you can level in the day care/plan to ev train better.It's what I do and it works great for leveling egg move pokes and than ev train em.

I don't think it should be, because , like S.U. said, some people want to get a level 1 to a level 10. And if you have an AR, you can quickly gain exp. because there is a code that makes 1 step = 250 steps. And, Renten, I've never thought of doing that. I might use the daycare more now!

Well you could do that while you're awake, but ever thought about leveling up 'daycare-pokemon' while you're asleep? well you can.

1) Put 1/2 pokemon in the daycare and put pokemon you want to have max happiness in your party.
2) Walk/Fly to Floaroma town and surf to the ironworks (I forget if it is actually called ironworks)
3) Find the area where when one of the moving pillars facing up (^) leads to a wall. https://i1.tinypic.com/81ev32h.jpg
4) get 2 clamps/clothes pegs and place one on 'B' and one on the down button (V)
5) Go to bed, Wake up, head over to the daycare and voila!
